a quick reflection on today

not our best performance by a long stretch but a very strong and committed performance that won the day...cogenhoe rightly down to ten men after 5 minutes after a shocking elbow on danny heale....followed by a good strike from him ten minutes later to put us 1 up..after that he also missed a penalty...yes....AGAIN....

so we held on against a decent and lively team and thru we go

officials excellent for a change and a very very noisy 150 urchins...they are fckn superb...drums an' all today....

a word on our hosts for the day who were superb...put a marquee up for us with bars and barbie as they needed the one bar for officials and then opened it all up for everyone at 5-30...a lot of thought went into today so well done all at cogenhoe and many many thanx from us all for a great day out...

and a very very very noisy sing song ensued...

on the receiving end of that...by courtesy of vodafone....rumatoid supporters travelling home and georgie borgie who took it all in good stead...

From my angle, what a great day out and glad there was no wind, didn't see the elbow but there seems to be no doubt. Maybe that decided matters which left Danny boy all the room he wanted to smack in a shot from 23 1/2 yards.

The Cooks, as you said , put a lot of thought into the day and many thanks to them.

Their team tried to play football throughout and as usual the travelling hordes were magnificent.

I think we have a real chance in this cup and if the draw is kind, may well see us reach the summit.

Thanks again to Trigsy and Grace for their sterling work on the Tony Roche and also to Peter the driver, not forgetting Steve of course in the other Chara, and lit Tel, looked the beez mate in your chaffeur's kit.

Blimey I don't think I've ever seen a player taking picis of the supporters before and also did anyone notice the Southend team applauding us fans on the M25, great stuff.

Lastly a big well done to the JAPS, another victory, albeit by only one goal but still a win.

Roll on Boretree!

One of the best days out I can remember in a long time. As Unc rightly said, not our best performance but enough on the day. Cogenhoe really made an effort for us fans and it was greatly appreciated. Excellent knees up after the game in the marquee, lovely steak rolls and, of course, the Urchins travelling army in fine voice!! Well done to everyone.

Fantastic day out, brilliant being in amongst the best fans in the non league. Performance wise I thought we played well defensively, especially Mr Hickman between the sticks. We lacked a little width at times, especially when they went down to 10, but all in all a great performance to beat a very good side.

Cant wait for the next round, but Braintree and league matters first!
