Hall, Allen, Penn, Gant, Hall, Baldwin, Campbell, Hall, Paul, Hammatt, Woodward, Smith, Velandia, Richie, Ofari

It is difficult to see how town could have played better than this. Kieron Woodward flowing down the wing, inch perfect cross to Bryan Hammatt who shields the ball with his back to goal and then tees up Trevor Paul to blast it at Hudson. A defender gets a foot to it only to deflect it past his own keeper. 0 – 1 (2 minutes gone). Not sure what Kieron Woodward had for breakfast but he was on fire with two shots in quick succession saved and wide. On the other wing Paul Campbell danced around his man leaving him for dead and won a corner. David Allen shot just over the bar. Chopper saves at the other end. Bryan Hammatt sees a chance to break from between the Centre Back into a one on one with the keeper and slot it past him for a lovely poacher’s goal on 22 minutes. Paul Campbell made another lovely run before pulling up sharp with some discomfort in his calf. On 31 minutes Trevor Paul ran down the right wing and with perfect timing and weight crossed the ball for Bryan Hammatt to slot home. Paul Campbell has another shot across goal. A curling corner from Campbell forced Hudson on his goal line into a full stretch save to prevent the corner going straight in. Half time and Town fans were delighted with the score-line.

At half-time Graeme Hall went off with an injury and Steve Velandia came on. David Allen crossing well for Bryan Hammatt to shoot just wide. Town fans were desperate to see Bryan Hammatt to get his hat trick and they didn’t have long to wait. The Gantster tackling back was booked for his troubles. A lovely corner floated in for Bryan Hammatt to head home on the 58th minute (0 – 4). Trevor Paul off and Lee Smith on. A Kieron Woodward shot was skied. A lovely weighted pass from Rudi Hall to Lee Smith was smothered at Lee’s feet by Hudson. Bryan Hammatt off and Kojo Ofori on. Kieron Woodward cross to Kojo Ofori to slot home 0 – 5. Kojo Ofori then shot into the side netting after a great run. Another shot from Kojo was gathered by Hudson. Lovely run from Steve Baldwin (who played the full 90 minutes). At the other end GWR missed a consolation chance. The Chopper made a world class reflex save. Awesome. Town fans teased him with a chant “Kenny would have caught it.”

If you missed it you missed a stonker! The understanding between Paul and Hammatt is starting to pay dividends!

Crowd of 245 at GWR was 113 better than their next highest crowd recorded this season. Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Well done to all today, especially Bryan for answering his critics and Mr Versatile, Steve Baldwin, for playing 90 minutes.

The football today was some of the best I have seen for a while and it was good to hear from a GWR supporter that we were the best team to have visited that part of Essex all season.

More of the same next Saturday, please.

We really must sort out this lack of goals problem......... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Excellent stuff, well done players and management, and you ugly bunch of drunken but well-spoken reprobates on the terraces! Woo hoo!

Although it's a team game etc etc particularly well done to the forwards after recent difficulties.
