No Micheal a keeper handling outside the box is a yellow card offense . You can only be sent off in them circumstance's for denying a goal scoring opportunity. Which obviously me an you can not comment on.

No, deliberate handball = red card, irrelevant of which player does it or where on the pitch.

Not for a goal keeper that is what the confusion was about the Man Utd game with Barnet and the keeper has had the red card recinded. I shared the same veiw as you untill yesterday.

Hand ball by the keeper OUTSIDE his area is deliberate hand ball & it its therefore a sending off offence as to the law, regardless of circumstance.

Looking on FIFA website:

"A player is sent off and shown the red card if he... denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball."

 

So from what I can gather it depends on whether any Margate players were near the keeper, in the Barnet incident there were no attacking players near him, so the card was downgraded.

If its deliberate hand ball it is a sending off offence. End of! The keeper knows where the edge of the area is & if he decides to handle that ball outside of that area then he will be deemed as handling that ball INTENTIONALLY & DELIBERATELY. If that is NOT the case then as a referee I need to brush up on my laws as that is what I would give in the same cicumstance. I shall have that clarified later.

McGOWEN came on for REMY. Ryan hit in face but both he and the culprit recieve yellow cards.
