The pitch and the weather

Despite it being a bit touch and go in summmer through the hot weather, think pitch looks in marvellous condition.

Think since season stasrted MFC been lucky with weather as it has been ideal growing conditions-wet and then sun.

In particular, think we have been fortunate to play all home games in dry weather so pitch has not cut up during the game.

(imagine what would have happened to a new pitch if mondays game had been at HDP-there would have been nothing left of it)

October is normally the wettest month, so just hope the next 2 home games are played in dry conditions on the day of the game;and pitch should then hold up through to end of season.

Thank goodness the decision was taken not to play any other games except first team games on it,despite clamour for a reserve side, lets be proud that a brand new pitch is in such good condition still.

We could have been starrring a pitch that was cut up so bad by now that it was simply a sea of mud and needed relaying at massive cost.

Looks like it will hold up if again ,next 2 home games can be played on dry days.

-just hope al the hard work, and tender loving care does not go up in smoke on firework night
