Leigh RMI

Recommended Posts

With all the excitement of the FA cup draw and some recent high profile good results. Lets not forget that the main aim of this season is staying up.

Therefore games like the one coming up on Saturday are the most important. Teams like Leigh are going to be potential fellow strugglers. Therefore its important that we get points againt them to ensure that we are well above them when it all starts to get frantic at the end of the season.

So far despite making a great start to the season, we have failed to beat some of the teams below us.

So lets make sure that we get as many thru' the turnstiles as possible and turn up the atmosphere.Leigh are not well known for their away support, so its up to us to get those turnstiles clicking.

The players are giving their all at the moment.. So lets show them our support by turning up in our 1,000s.

Keep bugging all your mates, and get them interested and down to Stonebridge Road, lets get above 1,200 again.

I reckon, maybe the whole match under the covered end for increased accoustics. Depending on mr.drummer's location of course. Just remembering the Scarborough game and how good the second half was. Of course people still behind the goal at the open end, but also our support at this end and the half way line gives an all round atmosphere and of course if its raining it would be tempting to stay that end. Anyway enough of my blurb...... Up The Fleet on Saturday lets get 1200-1300 again.... Fisher closest to goal as RMI slump to Hereford at Hilton Park.

I found this quote on an unofficial RMI site regarding their defeat to Hereford:

Neil Fisher was closest to grabbing a goal against the Bulls as RMI lost again at home to further insult the fans with a second half performance not worthy of pub football. A cross from the Number 8 had beaten everyone but not the crossbar, which denied him his first RMI goal.

Lets hope they play pub football again on Saturday, although I'm sure we've got enough to beat them anyway. Come on you Reds!!!!

Fellow Strugglers ? Our biggest struggle will be finding 11 players, subs! what a luxury. Jaime Turner could be playing up front with Andy him <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smilie_switch.gif" alt="" /> self making a comeback!

Alan W - I hope not.

But that is now 3 ( FG, Leigh, telford ) out of 4 cup finals lost, Woking being the exception. In what is turning out to be a tight division I hope that the 9 points dropped to teams , who I would consider our fellow relegation candidates don't prove costly.

Its great to get the plaudits when we do well against the big boys, but lets make sure that we also win these bread and butter games as well. With Farnboro' and kettering coming up next at home, 4 out of 6 points is a must. Especially bearing in mind that we have 3 tough away games coming up.

Sorry if this seems a bit downcast, but after tasting conference footie this season, I am desperate to still be amongst the big boys again next year.

On a similar theme to my other postings in this thread.

This game against stevenage is one of our 'cup finals'.

Forget about the likes of Yeovil etc , these games are what matter , and this one is as big, if not bigger, than our game against Canvey last season...

Its a game we must win .. Lets all get as many down the 'Road as we can, and lets play our part in getting the boys up for a win.

C'mon Fleet we can do this...
