Redbridge match thread

I'm pretty sure it was Mason too. The problem with 4-4-2 (which isn't a problem when you win 4-1, of course) is that Josias barely got forward once all game.

Obviously that was good from a defensive point of view because we looked much more solid at the back with a 4-4-2 formation but it limits us going forward.

Difficult to criticise a great performance and victory though.....although I'm sure Opti would find something to moan about had he been there.

I think having Harris on the right hand side of midfield would allow Josi to feel a bit more confident about getting past the midfielder on the overlap. Josh looked a bit out of sorts positionally (is that a word??) in the first half when played at right mid, so I think JC was being cautious of this.

That said, we did look more solid at the back, but let's not get carried away too much as that side is probably the cheapest assembled in the league (rumours of a £500 p/w wage budget), so we'll come across much sterner tests, especially with the front two of Wealdstone on Saturday.

Much better tonight, but we need this kind of performance against the better teams in the division. Redbridge are almost certainly relegation fodder, but at least we've taken the six points from them.

Don't think we can go on playing 4-4-2 even though it worked tonight as it severely restricts the ability of Woodruffe and Carbon to get forward - although I suspect that if we weren't winning as comfortably as we were tonight, Eddie would have placed Ballard back into central defence and pushed the wingbacks up.

Great result - looks like Eddie got the boys up for it last night.

The 4 goals have helped the goal difference.

Now we need to maintain the positive outcomes to move into a more comfortable position.

Went to the Burnham game (as a neutral - well hoping burnham would keep some local intrest going) and was great to watch a local side beat canvey, real FA cup game with lots of passion and incidents, including a debateable last minute penalty which came about by a foul right on the line of the box - but the lino told the ref it was in the box!

Lets hope our boys are still up for the game Saturday against wealdstone, as they say one swallow does not make a summer or a bird flu pandemic!

Back to Slough Town. Or am I on the wrong forum?

A great result tonight, and before anyone says that redbridge are not very good, neither have we been recently!

Daly, wilko, Miller, and Brooks were outstanding last night. Not that I am knocking the others!

Although opur fourth was good, as Ballard was going to take a long throw, a 'bridge defender stood right on the edge of the pitch were ballard was going to throw (the bloke wasn't off the pitch), and the lino made him go back 5 yards!!!!!!!!!!!! Top bloke

Phil yes it was clearly a foul - I was stood at the side, and from the side it was less clear which side of the line the offence took place as he was running into the area at the time. He defenatly fell in the box but at what point the foul took place was less clear.

Unfortuately Mr Thomas decided to go to Redbridge so no video evidence is available!!!!!

If you were 3 yards (9 feet)from the player, that would put you on the pitch?!?!

The ref gave the penalty, Burnham converted it - they are through to meet Aldershot.
