Redbridge match thread

Great win for us today after Saturday's 'performance'. Will be interesting to see who played and where in the 4-4-2 formation. I know Redbridge are stuggling, but a 4-1 away win IN ESSEX on a TUESDAY night will do the lads confidence the world of good.

Up the Rebels!

Who knows Phil. Them and Beaconsfield put us, Windsor and Maidenhead to shame with their grounds and were the bigger clubs. Who knows? Our lease expires the end of the season at Windsor for the three years so why not?

Also anyone Eddie should keep an eye on that's cheap and could make the step up Phil?

Line up was:

Parkin

Carbon

Ballard

Daly

Avery

Woodruffe

Wilkinson

Mason

Hodges

Brooks

Millar

Subs:

Alexis - for Brooks

Much better performance on a sticky surface against a young, but lively, Redbridge side.

First goal was Leigh Mason with a volley from the edge of the area into the ground and into the corner. They equalised as Parkin missed a corner at the back post and they were able to head back across and tuck in.

Our second saw Brooks get on the end of a long through ball and cross to Hodges at the back post who did well to control his shot into the net.

Third saw Hodges outjump their relatively short keeper and the fourth came as Alexis got ahead of others to get on the end of a cross to head in.

Numbers were a bit sparse this evening, but were rewarded by a confidence boosting win and those who travelled were appreciated by the players as shown at the end of the match.

Good summary from Gaz with little to add other than to say Miller and Brooks were superb tonight. I'm gutted that we didn't get one more as before the game I predicted an excellent performance and a 5-1 victory. It could have been too had we taken a couple of other chances we had.

Shame on those of you who had the opportunity to travel and chose to go to Burnham instead! (well done Burnham, by the way)
