The title says it all. In defeat i can say i was proud as a supporter to say i support the GAAAAAAATE. Every one who put the blue and white on tonight played well. From Charlie to Bertie. They all gave blood against a team of players who are stopped from being a great side only by there own arragance.I do not agree with Wellsies report which says Leroy the thug Griffiths goal was a toe poke. The finnish would grace any game in any league,Charlie had no chance. Leon was replaced at 1/2 time after playing most of the 1st half with a twisted knee.In the second 1/2 we not only had to play Fisher but two of the officials as well.In the second 1/2, i believe it was Smith, tackled a already over excited Leroy Griffith.Leroy retaliated by firstly stamping on smith then punching him twice as he kneeled on him. This is when the ref lost the game. He spoke to leroy who then started to walk, only to be called back and was given a yellow. Smith was also booked. JK was booked for a non event but lip reading the ref it was his third warning that got him the card. Following a near brawl the fisher management i believe realised they could soon be down to nine men so subbed Leroy and another quickly. In my opinion and that of Kevin Raine the penalty was a out and out dive. Summing up the officials game i would say it was on par with that of the staines game. Of Bertie Brayley, after a conversation with CK i believe we have him on the same conditions as last time, though CK is hopeful he will sign for us during the window.CK also said he was still meeting resistance from players who do not trust the club after the situation of the last few seasons. he also said this will improve with time and the Gaaaaate prove they are a club with a future. As i said in the title tonight made me more proud, proooooud prooooooooooooooooud to be a Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargate fan. we also had good banter with steve watts during the second half, leaving him in no dought he would be welcome at Hartsdown if he wanted to leave that shower.

Dont they have Baths nowadays then BB? Surely he must be out of that shower by now! ha ha

He(Watts) is a player with enormous experience and would be a great asset to us. Dont know the reason for him leaving us before but with him and Brayley up front can you just imagine...! However its good service to them that would then be needed for them to show there best so midfield would have to be improved upon too as I believe those that we have at present arent up to the standard of passing skills that are required to assist players of this nature.

tonight i thought we fed the front men well. Bertie played mostly behind the strikers, with kiester playing again in a more forward roll they added that bite we were lacking. you would have also been proud of there effort tonight. have you read Ck on kent on line.

[color:"red"]quote .. Cookie: Dont know the reason for him leaving us before

[color:"blue"] We had him on loan from Orient, we requested a transfer but couldn't match his wages(then rumoured at a thou a week I believe) .. he went on to sign for Shrewsbury who could match them. Just after (or before) him we had Leroy Griffiths on loan and after one game he couldn't get a starting place. Has made us pay for that in every game he's played against us since (think he's scored in 4 games for Grays & 2 for Fisher now).

looking at the fitness of griffiths know and at grays and comparing it to the fitness of the guy we had on loan from QPR,they are worlds apart. it like comparing a hunter horse to a race horse. 2 different animals.

Personaly, i'm not so sure the relative success of Fisher is down to their budget.

Maybe their team this season is similar to last and they have an organised pattern of play.

I reckon our players are as good as Fishers this season(and better than last).Just got to get them playing in a pattern

Keep this side up this season, together over the summer for once, and watch us walk away with the league in 2006/7.

I was also proud of the players last night, particularly in the second half. If we play like that in every game for the remainder of the season, there is no reason why we cannot achieve promotion (more than likely via the playoffs) this season. Up the Gate!

P.s - have to write once again: we were robbed!
