Match Reports

Just read the match report on the Chester Officail site. The author seemed to have severe problems reading our shirt numbers.

As usual no credit. To this end can I make a suggestion that we set up a page specially for 'opponents' supporters wherein we can include a template of excuses why they didn't beat us. This would include references to long ball tactics, cheating, being dirty and being much worse than all the other teams they managed to lose to previously.

Not forgetting the bad refereeing decisons, dodgy linesman and running the clock down.

This would save us reading this endless drivel and the twats that write

it can then bugger off to other sites and leave us alone.

I am absolutely pissed off with this every frigging time. Considering we have eight (yes 8) players out at the momemt, 4 or 5 whom would be definate starters, I think Andy and the boys deserve a massive pat on the back.

Just wait until we have everyone available for selection and we will then thump one of this big time Charlies big time.

Good luck Yeovil !

Having read the report,I think it was overall a true reflection of the game I saw, though the injury to Jacko early on was a major factor, resulting in re-organising the whole team.Up until then the game was finely balanced.I don't know where p/p get only 50 supporters from,it looked about 200 to me!

We had 45 people on the coach, many more travelled by car and train.

I just wish that someone, some time would give us a little credit at least, the game was not pretty to watch, but it takes two teams to make a match, and with our players going down and being stretchered off at a fair old rate, we did well to end with enough to finish the game ( yes one was sent off)

Most of our results have been achieved by pure hard work, great play and excellent team spirit, keep it up lads and Andy, we certainly get out money's worth.

If the statistics supplied by Albert are to be believed, there were indeed more than 50 Fleets fans at the game on Sunday.

There we:

83 of the smartly attired but not casual scene

3 tracksuit bottom and leather slip on brigade

2 casual dressers ( Lacoste being the name of choice for both)

36 of the shirt wearing faction ( 35 home shirt & 1 away shirt )

1 of the shirt lifting faction ( the one and only Jez C was in attendance)

Total : 125

Of this 125

60% were dwarves,

15% had one leg longer than the other,

0% had musical instruments

but 100% were fully commited to the Fleet cause

Trust this clears up any confusion.

Tune in to this week's Gravesend Reporter for my match report from Chester. Providing the sub editors do not fillet my copy you may be interested to note the following passage:

"Northfleet’s cheerful band of supporters - at least 80 had made the 500 mile round trip - launched into “One nil to the part timers” to rub salt into an already open wound."

I arrived at this figure of an estimate of the travelling support by using the little known derivitive of the Duckworth-Lewis method known as the Maurice Norman Quantum Physics Theory, and once adopted by myelf and Roger in Honkers at a Kent Floodlight game at Grays Athletic.

(Kent Floodlight??? In Essex?? Yes). The MNQPT suggests one should count the legs and divide by two.

It generally works apart from in some districts north of the Thames where the locals have but one eyebrow(a la the Gallagher brothers) and multiple numjbers of lower limbs.

Chas , whilst appreciating your calculation at Grays ,with the former sports editor at the Reporter , surely any involvement of Maurice Norman results in the last two digits being 98 .

Hence we are one of the few clubs to have the same number on the gate three times in one season . ie 498 ,and I believe 4198 saw the Canvey game (4098?)

Alan, as a man with a far greater intellect than myself(not difficult) I bow to your greater academic skills. Therefore, by dint of the appendix to the MNQPT which you reminded me of, the number of Fleety people at Chester must have been.......98.
