Margate: Mitten, Sesay, Brayley, Edwards, Smith, Deen, Keister, Ryan, Braithwaite, Amoako, Standen.

Subs: Egan, Remy, Hilaire, Donavan, Sacha

First goal on 11 minutes for the home side. A ball in from the right by Riviere found Griffiths who toe-poked the ball in from close range.

On 22 minutes, Margate should have equalised when Brayley released Amoako, but with just the keeper to beat, the former Bromley man failed to convert the chance.

Margate had another good chance through Amoako later in the half, but the Fisher keeper made a good save.

Half time score Fisher 1, Margate 0.

Substitution: Remy on, Braithwaite off.

Margate much improved in second half, but Keister has been booked.

Greg Oates out with flu, and Ryan Maxwell is in Scotland.

Then on 77 minutes, Gate equalised. A high cross from the right from Sesay found Ellis Remy who beat the keeper from inside the box for his fifth goal of the season.

Two poor fouls from Fisher: first Griffiths on Donanvan and then Watts on Edwards. Both Fisher players booked. Fisher under pressure – 75% of the play is in the Fisher half.

Then on 87 minutes, Keister conceded a penalty which was scored by Hamid Barr to put the Fish back in the lead.

Final score 2-1 to Fisher – Margate’s second defeat in 12 league games.

Played really well tonight. Started with Bertie behind Adolph and Leon. First half played OK but 1-0 down.

Second half played v well and Remy levelled. It all got out of control after our equiliser. Griffiths looked like he stamped on someone's head but just got a yellow. Couple of brawls then they got late pen. Mitten almost saved.

Overall, plenty of reasons to be optimistic. Couple of ex-players in crowd (Annon and Watson).

Goal set up very well by Sesay, who played wonderfully.

We defended too deep in the first half but attacked with a vigour that was very exciting in the second. Fisher do not like it up them, to quote an old TV comedy, and when the going got tough got very petulant. And what is that thing that Griffiths does with the clenched fist and the wobbly arm? Should have been a straight red, no contest.

Shame we were denied anything out of the game, but ooh we played with some passion, got this old biddy's adrenaline going.

Nice little ground, and friendly welcome, great beer in the bar. When we approached the queue at the turnstiles, home supporters stood back and made us go in first, saying we should go in, as we had come a long way. They get the gentlemen of the year award for this season so far.

Bill had a great game tonight, but everyone played well. Ellis took his goal well, and was pushing hard for another. Adolf is astounding. Standen had a great game too, although the usuals will disagree. And how good to see Bertie back. But where was McGowan?

A good night out and I did not mind getting absolutely soaked.
