Laugh Of The Weekend!!

Recommended Posts

When i was at primary school most of the kids were spurs or Liverpool fans, then the kids started following Man Utd and arsenal now its chelsea such is life.

I will say when you have been following a team and their fist major trophy in your living memory occurs 21 years from when you started you just want a period of sustained success. As a chelsea fan it almost happened under Vialli. Mourinho will take us to a new level.

wenger can be one dimensional and it has been his downfall but the simple fact is to keep up with the "joneseys" we have had to build a new stadium(to keep up with man u) and now we have to get 22 players of world class standard to keep up with chelsea,

Well stop trying to keep up with the Joneseys and just realise you're really no bigger, bar a couple of good seasons, than Charlton and Fulham.
Building a 60000 stadium and thinking you can fill it is also arragent

considering we can fill 38,500 at highbury and in champions league had our record attendance of 74,000(against aik solna!!),i don't think it is arrogance,we are the biggest supported club in one of the biggest cities in the world with a 25'000 waiting list for season tickets

granted if we were as crap as fulham or charlton then we may struggle to fill it,but deep down you know we are not,we are big players, but for money we simply can't compete with someone with billions of pounds at their disposal, thats simple economics, but i still feel with our strongest eleven on the pitch we are a match for anyone,we was hardly blown away at the bridge earlier in the season,if anything we were a bit unlucky to lose the game in a vey dull match

Arsenal are only the biggest supported club in London because of the recent success.

If Spurs and Arsenal were both of equal current success, there would be very little difference between the two fanbases.

Within ten years, assuming Chelsea maintain their success, they will have the largest fanbase in London.

When it comes to hard-core support, ie not the glory-hunters, Spurs and Arsenal are equal and Chelsea come a poor third.

Not a dig at any of the clubs mentioned - just a fact.

i would say it was

arsenal

spurs

west ham

chelsea

hornchurch

in early 80's there was nothing to split arsenal and spurs with support, arsenal did get bigger gates but had a bigger ground

west ham have always been well supported

chelsea have beaten us twice, once in champions league(deserved)

and once two months ago(not so sure)

will be interesting at highbury when chelsea come down, but don't think for one minute it will be easy, coz it won't

it will be tight, theres no doubting that, our problem is compared to you if our top players get injured we have people like cygan, you have carvalho, theres no competition there

we sell vieira, replace him with a young(but impressive fabregas)or flamini

you have about 10 midfielders and most are internationals
