Laugh Of The Weekend!!

Besides a certain penalty kick in N5, my biggest laugh of the weekend came when three hot-and-bothered middle-aged Newport fans came into the bar to buy a post-match drink, moaned about the referee being a St Albans fan, and when James asked what they wanted, they turned on their heels, and said they weren't prepared to give another penny to this football club!

 

It's only a game of football, boyos!

Wasn't the best game though! Well it was pretty dire for the neutral, Newport look like a team in trouble and in the first half between the two sides there about 2 shots on target. 0-0 seemed a flattering scoreline for the level of entertainment!

 

Still better than travelling 120 miles to see your team lose 5-2. Then see the manager resign.

 

Anyway, wonder if Jenas can manage scoring 3 games in a row.

It's a shame Davids is out, but the very fact that the Goons are crowing about this means they're more than a little worried.

I never realised until today that all the Arsenal lads played with 50 not out tshirts on against United last year. What a bunch of arrogant w**kers they really are.

I'd have said the same had Henry still been injured, I started out saying I'd be happy with 2 points from Man U and Arsenal, I'd stick with that.

 

While we've got a quality squad the objective has to be top 6, the Champions League is a bit of a red herring. While I think we're an outsider for 4th it is an outside possibility I guess. I'm keeping my feet on the ground though.

 

Would be nice to beat them on Saturday though, though think I was saying similar pre-chelsea!

I wouldn't worry about Henry, he very rarely performs in big games. He is just a flat track bully really.

 

Having said that, the big games for him this season will be the six point relegation battles against the likes of Sunderland, Everton and West Ham etc.

Personally I'd bung 3 up front (with Keane) and tear into them, the defence is shocking and they have no protection in midfeild now Vieria has gone. Man City should of taken a point with an aging Cole and inconsistant Vassell at Highbury

With Mido, Keane and Defoe going at them they wouldn't know what hit them.

i would have to go for man u,simply on the basis that every other club apart from blackburn and chelsea have won the league title by doing it with a mix of young players and wise buys(maybe not always english),chelsea and blackburn have bought their titles

at least man utd dominated coz they were fortunate enough to have young kids coming through who turned into world beaters

and as much as you lot hate arsenal,they didn't exactly splash the cash(but i do wish there was a few more english boys in there)

Arsenal and Man Utd have both splashed the cash, so dont kid yourself, Did you find Henry, Wiltord, Edu, Veira, Berkamp, Hleb in a jumble sale.

 

Arsenal fans are so bitter because their decade of dominance is not going to materialise, and the sweet thing is it is their boards fault! instead of investing in players you have decided to build Cashburden Grove. Hence Veira and Edu have left and Henry goes in the summer.

 

Enjoy a number of seasons in the duldrums you might find it illuminateing.

i do have a season ticket,but stopped going 5 years ago,don't agree with all the money in the game and i get more of a kick out of watching the urchins these days

sell me season ticket every year for face value to a mate of mine,luckily me parents have a season ticket as well so when one of them can't go i have the ticket,went 10 home games last season and missed 1 hornchurch game all season

glory hunter i certainly am not,missed 34 games from 1990-2000(most of them in europe)
