I'm dead jealous. I've just been on eBay to look for tickets, and they're selling for between £600-£1200. You could sell yours, and then bribe your driving instructor to pass you!!

CZ-my ticket cost 50 quid which is quite steep although the pricing ranged from 25-140 pounds.

Rob The Saint-No, unfortunately I wasn't p***** at the time of posting! Just a bit over excited that's all. So far there's Ringo, Macca, Eric Clapton and Jools Holland playing. Those are the only names that I recognised but there are others as well.

I'm not sure what the structure of the line up will be. It said On the RAH website that Eric Clapton will be overseeing the musical side of things-whatever that means! Just looked on the website and some other people who I've never heard of are playing too: Jim Keltner,Jeff Lynne, Leon Russell, Ravi Shankar and various members of Monty Python's Flying circus will be there(i know who they are at least!)

Dunno what Ringo will be doing, maybe he'll read us a bit of Thomas the Tank Engine!

I'm sorry but your not selling this event to me. It sounds like my worst musical nightmare.

The Beatles are/were probably the most over-rated band of all time (apart from Oasis) and Eric Clapton makes music for 50 year old muso's with beards.

I'm not having a dig, it's just my opinion and I hope that you have an enjoyable evening

One of the main reasons I agreed to go to this gig is 1.To see the remaining Beatles and 2. My friend lied to me,the little b******, and told me DAVID BOWIE was playing! Do you know how annoyed I was when I found out it wasn't true!? I agree with you about Eric Clapton, but not about the Beatles and certainly not about Oasis(although them being my favourite band I wouldn't really!) I'm hoping some more exciting ones.

Anyway Monty Python's Flying Circus people will be there and if it gets too dull, then I'll hit the JD and coke!

I was going to stay out of this one, cos I know Thornsy only slags off the Beatles to get a rise out of me.

The thing is, despite the image he tries to portray, Mr Thorns does actually know a bit, and there is no way in the world he could fail to see the huge influence, and the massive breaking of ground that the Beatles achieved in just seven years.

Unfortunately, when Thornsy argues that The Beatles were "the Westlife of the 60's", then there really is not point in trying to have a serious conversation about it.

You could argue that Oasis are untalented wannabe's, that they do nothing original etc. etc. (I don't think that - but some people do), but it's impossible to do the same with The Beatles. There IS no argument against what they achieved.

Anyway. Well done Thornsy. You've managed to stir me up on this subject yet again.

Well, enjoy the show anyway Chubbhead. And I agree with you - when Clapton's on, it's probably the best time to go and buy that ice cream!!
