[color:"blue"]I must agree, I was disheartened when I heard we'd signed him, he was awful when he was with us before.

This time around he's a changed man .. I'll second that call for current front runner as 'Player of the Season'

I've always thought that Charlie was one of best keepers I'd seen outside the Football League in the air. He collectes just about everything above his head. But I would agree that the rest of his game has improved.

I did interview Charlie at the beginning of the season and he said that he was looking forwrad to a new challenge. He had been in contact with Chris for some time and that Chris was keen to have Charlie to come and help get the club back to where it was (Conference). Charlie feels that he is in good shape and that his pre-season form was good. He acknowledges that he may have made mistakes in the past but that he has a good few years left and is keen to achieve promotion with Margate.

For me, he has been about the best keeper I've seen this season. And a really nice guy to boot.

I didnt think he played bad for us previously at all & the news that he re-signed was a godsend to me.He has been by far the most consistent player so far & he is really doing the business this season. Definately player of the season so far.

Totally disagree with the idea that Charlie wasn't up to it in his previous spells with the club, to my mind he's always been quality and no more prone to errors than any other keeper. Certainly far less prone to them than any of last seasons candidates. I remember two major mistakes - his air kick against Cardiff that didn't actually lead to a goal and the 4-4 with Northwich at Hartsdown when he sort of threw the ball into the net.

I also remember lots of excellent performances, including probably the best save I've ever seen in our 1-0 win at Woking during the first Conference season. That's the first Conference season when we started like a house on fire and very briefly topped the table - with Charlie in goal. Unlikely we'd have managed that with a supposed 'dodgy' keeper.

He's class and he's always been class.

Generally agree with those comments, Jeff. He made a brilliant save at Worthing to earn us a point and I think Wealdstone would have won had he not made that outstanding save in the second half on Saturday.

However, I do wonder about Charlie sometimes when he is under sustained pressure. We haven't been in that situation so far this season - that could change tonight!

P.S. Anyone else read about Scott Ward's howler for Crawley on Saturday? And to think he is being picked ahead of Phil Smith!

I think i was also one doubting CM, but delighted to also agree i have been wrong so far and he is playing with alot of confidence.

Bound to make a howler sooner or later, but so do all keepers and wil forgive him when he does as agree with above, that but for his save on saturday at a crucial time, we would have lost.
