No. I have not gone mad, although I was on the verge of a heart attack on saturday. I cannot remember the last time I was so vocal at a game.

I do not wear rose tinted spectacles. How in the name Of West, was Avery player of the year at Thame? Saturday was just ANOTHER crap performance.

So Ballard was bought as a Midfielder/Defender? So is that the excuse to leave him floundering in midfield the whole game, instead of putting him back into defence, putting alexis in midfield, and Hodges up front! Leigh Mason looked as though he had pooped his pants during the warm up. Kept turning up his own a-hole. PASS the bleeding thing!!!!!! And seedall was Invisible.

We all new that this season would be tough. But even with Harris and Metz, we have been struggling.

On Paper, we lost 3 very good players, and Spencer.

We Lose Matt Murphy, but Seedall was playing well towards the end of the season, and any one with half a brain would realise after our last two games that Hodges HAD to play up front.

 

Saulsbury and Mike Murphy go, but we hear great stuff about about Ballard and Avery. Maybe not as good as their predecessors, but there not exactly crap we are told.

Spencer was not brilliant, but he could play along the midfield and could put crosses in, but mason is coming through,so on paper we should be doing ok.

 

ON Paper! I must admit, I am not the biggest Denton fan. I think a few times last season he got lucky. The walsall game, a game I will never forget. I don't think Allaway, Haddow, Murphy, Saulsbury, Daly, and Carbon will EVER play as good as that again in their lives.

I thought we were totally played off the park, but the magic was there for us that day.

We then played Yeading where we were beaten by a much better side. They had more passion. More belief, they wanted it. We looked for plan B or C, but there was none. Some mates I had convinced to come asked how the hell I watch that every week. they never came back. haddow went, and our answer, put Hodgie at the back!

We muddle through rounds of the Trophy, and get beat by Gravesend. We get dominated for most of the game, two fantastic Smurf Goals, give us some respect, Our best Player is Hodges. Even if he does give away a goal.

Before anyone reading this starts moaning, we were crap for the last two months of the season, and Most of us were grumbling about out formation and the fact that Hodges was at the back. At last, in the Cup final, don't feint, eddie changes the formation. hodges is up front!!! But still 5 at the back. Don't get me wrong, I loved winning the cup, But not for Parkin, we would have been 3 or four down at half time, and were not exactly dominant when they had ten men.

 

I am waffling on as normal, but basically I think the Tactics are inept at times.

We have to young defenders in Avery and Ballard, and and an Old stalwart defender, who never graced with great pace, is getting slower, although still dominant in the air, and a good leader. So why isn't Daly playing in the centre of the three defenders? He could help both lads out by talking to them, he is more dominat in the air than either.........unless.........avery is slower? If we have fit centre backs......Padgett.Lovegrove, Why is our best attacker playing at the back? Says alot for Dentons confidence in these players. Ok, maybe trying Ballard in midfield was a good idea, BUT, after 20 minutes it was obvious to all, it was not working, why let the poor lad suffer? If after 20mins denton had put ballard in for Hodges, and puished Hodges up and played with 5-3-3 at least it would have shown some thought? Some way of redeaming a bad situation.

At one stage, we had Alexis up front, Hodges at the back, and ballard in midfield. (ok, ballard may have been bought as a mid/def, but he has not played that bad at the back). Every one could see it needed changing, and Yes, So did Eddie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He pushed Daly up front! Brilliant!!!!!!!

 

Sorry I have waffled on here as usual. It is just I have never been so frustrated at a game. Again, some frineds of mine came with their kids. They will not be back, they said there was more passion from the fans than the players.( Apparently my rantings kept them amused though?)

Yes, the ref was crap, but he was crap in general, and he wasn't the the oneknocking any deadball into the keepers arms, or not passing or tackling.

The worst thing is, it has not put me off. I actually, after saying differently on sat, want to go on Tuesday. During the dirge comes good. Under the spiral downwards with Briley, I still went to Yeovil to see us win, and everywhere else to see us loose...witton!. I can't help it, Slough are in my blood, I cannot be dumping them for someone else. I have to see my beloved Slough . I have ranted and raved, but I really hope the likes of Avery, denton, prove me wrong, and If they do, I want to be there to see it!

I felt miserable yesterday after the game, and even cancelled plans to go out drinking! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

I feel better for doing this!

 

At the end of the day I Love Slough Town, but I do not always like Slough Town.

 

Blah blah, I'm bored now , I expect half of you are as well now.

 

So, what my post actually said I wanted. Is there any space left on the coach? If so what time does it leave, how much?

 

If not, anyone want to give a miserble bald fat git a lift?

ha ha ha playing 5-3-3?! even with the xtra man I doubt we would have won plinth but i like your thinking!

Well spotted Richie! I, ahem, did that on purpose!

Is there a phone number I can ring for the coach? I have never bought programmes, and Have not been on the coach for a while; and I do not fancy map reading and driving at the same time!

 

Good luck to Burnham, and I hope they win, but I hope it is a crap game compared to Redbrige v The Rebels <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />

That's assuming, Gaz, that you are still sat in the exam until 5.30 PM. You may take one look at the paper, scribble a few lines and then walk out at 4 PM! Good luck and all that, by the way! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
