Any fingernails left ?

Something not quite right up front a the moment - are they getting the right kind of ball ? Lots of good crosses going in but no end product. Of course it might just be good defending or bad luck.

Thought the latest centre half looked pretty solid.

Impressed by the number of Newport fans considering their league position - Almost felt sorry for them at the end (still we've been there a few times in the past)

This league is very open this year - if we're not careful we could end up promoted - now that would be an adventure (or something) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

A tough game yesterday CS but I think most people could have guessed they would come and defend in numbers, after their long string of poor results. I thought Pennock was outstanding in goal for them. A hard earned 3 pts but 3 pts all the same. Things seemed to improve greatly after the two substitutions were made. I also feel that once the central defence situation is eventually finalised, we will go on from stength to strength.

Almost felt sorry for them, CS? Don't be soft, man. After the way they mugged us in the 94th minute down there last season, my heart bleeds for them.

We've hit 22 pts now. Took us until New Years Day to get that far last season. We've come a long way since the dark and dingy days of 12 months ago and we all know why that is.

Come on u Saints!

The goal was a cracker, even better was the reaction of the Newport Players. Whilst the Saints players were celebrating, there were about 5-6 (inc goalie) all lying on the floor in various positions, all extremely browned off. Ha ha! Great image! Did any one get a photo of that, or were everyone too busy celebrating? Looking forward to Carshalton next week.

Simon Martin still looks a bit out of sorts to me, lacking sharpness in front of goal. Paul Hakim is always lively and deserved his goal, though his first touch lets him down sometimes.

Matt Hann is so much better on the right wing, worth trying him on the left but it didn't really work.

Carshalton will be more of a test now Ada and Cousins are out, good opportunity for Flynn and Allman to show their worth.
