And surely any player has a right to react to an opinion expressed to him?.
Why should he "take it on the chin & accept it", just because someone has paid to get in?.

Totally disagree with you. If a spectator is acting in an insulting and abusive manner then the player should complain to a steward or official and (if sderious enough) then the spectator should be ejected from the ground. If a player is just being criticized then he should just ignore things and get on with it. The fact is, it is the afns money that pays the players expenses and if the customer is not happy then he/she has a right to complain.

Stuart Snowden looked a good solid player to me.

And Brian Hammatt doesnt look too bad either. Problem is you need a front 2 that work well together and BH has not got a good partnership going with anyone yet!

But i reckon JC is not too bad a manager,so people shouldnt lose faith in him to get things right.

And in the real world players are human beings, not Saints.
Just because you pay towards someones expenses doesn't mean you own them. Of course the customer has a right to complain, & the person complained against also has the right to answer that complaint.

I don't know what was actually said and whether there was any build up to allow a steward to react. What I did see was Hammett walking in a threatening way towards to perimeter which I felt was wrong of him. As I have already posted, I have nothing against the guy and do not consider him a bad player. However, he isn't performing at present andI feel that Jim needs to try new ideas. I certainly have not lost faith in Jim but, as with all fans, have my own views and have a right to express them in a fair manner, which I have done so.

To me Bryan is not a bad player but a good player having a bad time and he will get through it, he just needs to be encouraged and treated with the kind of respect that everybody expects to be given to them.

Who else feels that this 'difference of opinion' between the management and supporters regarding player selection and player departures, has affected the general atmosphere at recent matches and has also detrimentaly affected crowd numbers as well. The atmosphere at the start of the season was so much better than it is now.It so quiet at games at present.

The sad thing is, that there are so many players at the Town currently playing the best football of their careers [ A.Hall,Allen,Gant,Penn...etc],But their efforts are going to waste because of a combination of an inability to find a viable forward partnership and through bad luck, especially at home.

Agree with that 100%. People should ease off the criticism,it is not helping anyone but the opponents..

It might have something to do with the standard of football played in this division. I have never come across a league where so many sides play route one football. It stifles the sides like you and us that want to play attractive football and gives the paying customer very little satisfaction or value for money.

Early days yet, but if you go to www.footballwebpages.co.uk it has a prediction league which shows ETFC losing 14 games by the end of the season and still making the play offs.

It's a bit differeent to losing 3 games in the ESL and being out of contention for the title.

Things have a habit of working themselves out so let's keep trying our best. ETFC have been fortunate to have had a successful beginning(the last 4 years), and fans have been used to watching winning teams. Nobody said it was going to be easy so let the management team get on with picking the team and hopefully coming up with a winning combination up front. It's a great feeling to be able to pick what people consider to be a winning side at 4.50pm on a Saturday. I know, because I have done it.

I think we are getting carried away again, this is a fans forum where fans give their thoughts & opinions on our club, as far as im aware their have been no derogatory remarks about anyone or anything, Ive also not heard anything untoward on the terraces just lots of diffrent views (I missed Saturday's game so dont know the full story on the Hammett outburst).

ETFC is a great club run extremly well with a great bunch of supporters, we I am sure all agree on that & this forum lets us air our views, weather that's the style of play, the starting line up, the condition of the pitch or the bread pudding (yum).

There is plenty of banter as well which im sure we all enjoy reading, so when the club goes three league games without scoreing & the top scorers are pens & OG's then of course you will get some indiffret comments, & as THM said earlier in the thread none of us would like to see Hammett score more reguarly than the fans however if its not happening change it, its a sentiment shared by more than a few so of course its going to get aired on here, but come 19:45 tomorrow night we will all be behind the team.

I've heard lots of outbursts in previous matches but not this one.

Some unkind comments on here about snowy. He did a job for us when we needed it. He probably would struggle at this level and I think he may realise that as he is a fellow fan too!

Our players are not saints as Arkwright said. We are not saints either!

And from the comments I can guess who was probably getting on Bryans nerves. I think he was trying hard to encourage rather than discourage but when things aren't goin too well it would seem like abuse. It will be interesting to see who plays at Barton
