Deliberately left it till today cos the officials were so bad, makes me boil when the ref has to call both the linos to ask what happened!

Surely if he is not sure just have a word with all and sundry then get the game moving, at least it takes the heat out of matters.

As Billy said a big well done to Billy Holland for taking so much stick, and Danny Boy so unlucky as their 4 was the perpetrator so to speak.

Crowd excellent as normal and bring on the Tilburgs again!

Cook who? can't wait!

Can somebody please explain how the number 5 also managed to stay on the pitch after deliberately throwing the ball at somebody (couldn't see who it was) on the ground after the pen was awarded ??? It was an awful throw and missed but nether the less. An all round good show by the Urchins though and the sending off seemed to pull them all together and some good football was played after that incident.

Agree with you there Stu but it's gonna happen all season and we know it, but of course the lads are bigger than that and of course with Danny now suspended for ? games it gives Ricki, Gerry, Asa or Billy a chance, that's the benefit of a super squad put together, and there will be more bookings, reds, and injuries to come.

As I've said before each and everyone of the squad play their part and all successful clubs heve competition for every position.

Those playing on Tuesday at the Chad have to get out there and do it to earn a chance.

Give me my boots!

>>the officials were so bad

Is it the officials' fault?

Take the Brentwood game as an example - this was the first time the referee had been given a senior match.

The league must know that he would be playing in front of a large and very vocal crowd.

The league must know that a lot of teams in this league are out to build a reputation for themselves, and that HFC are the ideal team to build a reputation against.

So why did the league appoint an official lacking in experience, and give him a lineman who was also apparantly lacking in experience?

Not only could this destroy the referee's confidence, it does no good at all to the standard of football.

Surely the league must take the blame for not appointing experiened officials for these games?

If a referee is having his first match in the Premier League (ie in the old Div. 1) would he be given Arsenal v Chelsea or Manchester Utd to start off with?

Of course he wouldn't.

Don't blame the officials - blame the person who appointed them.

Agree with you totally Dagsy, I saw a Southern Eastern match the other week and the officials were far better and of course more respected.

We were warned about the standard of officiating earlier this season and it's been a fact, but I appreciate they have to start somewhere.

We have had two good'uns, the Indian chap and the Italian Ice Cream man the very next home game were excellent.

I have in my time only reffed two games, albeit in Sunday footie, but I had no probs at all, mind you that doesn't mean I shall be applying just asking the refs to apply a bit of common sense and Man Management.
