FAC1 Draw: Home to Aldershot Town

I dont care if I rub up other supporters the wrong way. What I witnessed today was one of the worst performances I have witnessed by players representing CIFC, notice I did not say TEAM because we did not play as a team today.

There were too many so called players under achieving today.

When watching a display like that, it is no wonder that our attendances are so low even the die hards are soon to die.

Do we have a left biase nowadays, it would be ok if it worked and the player in question did something constructive with the constant feeding.

Unless there is a dramatic upbeat from the majority of the CIFC PLAYERS then say goodbye to the next round of the FA Cup.

It has to be asked, is it the players or the tactics they are asked to adopt?

Is it because people like Clarke only perform when king is there to watch them.

Dire today Clarke lazy, Duffy did not get forward enough and as for Minton does he think he is the only player on the pitch.

On a lighter note their keeper should be on strictly come dancing either that or he had a log on his pants.

woefull display today, did not play like a team, just like a load of individuals.

Clarke does not do nearly enough to deserve his place in the side, but he wasnt the only one this afternoon who needs to look at their performance.

full credit to Burnham.they were better organised than us & with some better finishing could have won. they seemed happy with a draw, but actually deserved a win.

the lads MUST up their game big time on tuesday or it wont be us playing the shots...

Cangull - your not rubbing me up the worng way and you have every right to speak your mind. Wouldn't say it was the worst performance but I can see why you think it may be.

Well done to Burnham as I felt they did deserve something towards the end.

Agree with your comment, players - not team. It was a poor game all round and will certainly not attract picky supporters to the Lane. We definitely seem to play to the level of our opposition. We scrap away at places like York but make hard work against teams like Burnham and Alty.

I know we had a different line up today but we have the players who should be able to step up and make a difference. Sadly that didn't really happen today.

Clarke was having a poor game by his standards but was being well supported by Bimson. He took a few comments from the crowd which I think didn't help him.

Ibe was pretty muched marked out of the game and Lee still looked a little off the pace after injury. Bunce looked competent and strong.

Felt we lacked pasison and commitment in midfield again. There was little service coming through the middle which was why I think Lee was struggling. Mario was going wide and managed to get a few crosses in, including the one from which Ibe scored. Would have liked Mario to have stayed more central and let JK or Duffers do the work on the line. It has been discussed on here before that Mario and Mints play a simlar game and there has also been talk of them not "wanting to play together" If that's the case today was a good example of why not to play them at the same time.

Tactically we left Clarke on for the whole game when he was struggling to get past the Burnham defence on that side. Sedgemore was left on the bench when a "shake up" was probably required. The first substitution was a straight swap, Jason for Lee. Lee wasn't getting anything from midfield so what was Jason going to do that Lee hadn't?

What really pisses me off is that someone I know and spoke to today said he wasn't going to keep paying to watch crap like that and I couldn't really argue the point with him. Secondly a Tuesday night trip round the far side of the M25 beckons when we have the "team" to put games like that away. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

A very inept performance today, I'm not going to single out individuals for criticism, but Bunce certainly deserves praise for his showing, especially as just coming back from injury.

Burnham did exactly what we should have expected, made the game scruffy and gave 110%. We have knocked enough teams out of the FA Cup to know that it is NEVER going to be easy, because the passion makes up for any gap in ability.

They were a good set of lads and I hope they have a good season. However, let's all get to Burnham on Tuesday and get behind the lads. If we manage to beat them we will have a 1st round game that we are capable of winning, and from there who knows.

Nobody ever knows what the magic of the FA Cup will produce.....

We were definetly of the mark against a team that were trying to do to us what we have done to others. apart from Clarke nobody played very badly.

We lacked passion they were up for it.

I think supporters should be able to tell a player to get stuck in when they bottle a tackle like Clarke did, or get beat in the air by someone much shorter, or stop running for 50/50 balls, or stroll when you should sprint.

ANON:

To the fella who said "he wasn't going to keep paying to watch crap like that" tell him to shove his money up his [****!!****].

I am definetly going Tuesday and if there is a coach organised I shall be on it for the first time.

I was going to make Forest Green my first away game by coach, but an early evening drive around the M25 does not really appeal to me.

MOB - as Yellow Bungle (aka Miserable Git!) pointed out previously we can all have nice little chats on this forum but one of the main discussions should be getting more people through the turnstiles. Todays performance ain't gonna help.

Not a problem - I can tell the guy I know that no one gives a [****!!****] if he continues to go or not. But 363 isn't a great crowd and how many others are buggering off to watch Tilsons side or just saving their hard earned money? The guy has followed the club in the Ryman and has attended away games so it's not as though he's not committed. I'm sure he will continue to attend but from being a 100% regular he is now chosing the games he will watch.

At the end of the day the club needs the revenue and can ill afford to lose "any" supporters.

Agreed, HX had over 400, do we need to ask the question without a move and or a merge will we ever get a decent size crowd that reflects our managers ambitions.

I really hope so.
