Some time ago I mentioned the fact that when the teams come out at the start of play we dont seem to be able to give them the rousing ovation,close up,in a personnal way like we used to.Thats because of where they go these days,down to the coffin end,immediately prior to kick off.I spoke to CK & he thought it would be a good idea to try this and have them cross over & come to the bar end. This never happened.

This would give them an extra lift I think & maybe get the team to perform better from the off.In most of our games the team have started slowly. How,if the teams still go to those ends can we help with this? Its only a thought & only a suggestion but why dont we assemble down at the coffin end for once,instead of the bar end just before they come out so that we CAN give them the start I feel they need.

It may be a little late in the day for todays game but I just thought that if we could spread the word and get everyone down there ready for the team to appear it could well have an inspirational affect on the players from the "OFF.

I'm fed up with our team seeming to be the AWAY team by going into no-mans land to start with and also having to give them & recieve applause from them from a distance.

Could this be done? Would we be willing to do it? Would this have a positive affect on the team? Your replys on this would be welcome. It could JUST be the extra spur they need to actually WIN a game.

If they cant come to us then we should go to them!!

Thanks but it will only work I feel if we have large numbers of the "gate" fans go there. Still,a few would still be better than what they get at the moment I suppose.

Good idea! Who decides which end the teams go when they come out anyway? Is it just who comes out first? If so Margate should definitely go to the bar end to get the cheers. Also you would think they would prefer to play towards the bar in the second half to get better crowd response.

 

Incidentally from the day the clocks go back the sun can cause problems for the team playing towards the bar in the first half, so at least on sunny days you would like to win the toss and play towards Coffin End.

Its the change of changing rooms this year that has led to this. Home changing room is furthest away & there is a reason for that but I cant recall it at the moment.Those were the days when both the team & supporters welcomed each other at the start & it felt good. It just has to be a feelgood thing. Whereas as it is now the emotion dosent get across to everyone like it used to.Its a good start to the game for both the players & supporters.

Just watch how sombre it is today if we dont go to the other end where the lads go to.

True. A good rousing welcome from the home crowd must give the team at least as much of a boost as the cuddle. Or is it huddle?

You are right Cookie, the way the cabins are laid out Margate can only go down the Coffin End. It would be nice to know exactly why the home dressing room is down that end, and whether they could be changed round.
