To-date almost all of our games have been played on dry and indifferent surfaces due to the very dry summer. Starting with the game at Bromley to the bone hard Lodge Road and finally the dust bowl at ETU. Is it by coincidence that we have started to enjoy a more successful period just as the pitches start to show a little give? It may be that Craigs 'style of play' is better suited to the 'softer going', I certainly hope so because its just started raining.

I reckon we've discovered a new quiz game here. In the style of 'through the keyhole', we could get Llyod Grossman to pose the question to a panel of Squatters, "Who plays on a pitch like this?"

The thing to remember for those squatters is that both teams play on the same pitch. And anyway what does the state of the pitch matter when all you do is hoof the ball in the air?

I think youll find its the fact that Billericay is in a slightly different time zone to Chelmsford which confuses them and puts them off their 'style' of football. Not that i like to use the word style in reference to them

This week has seen a hark back to the style of the old forum slag fests (thanks to Bury....). This led me to rummage around memory lane to review some old battles we used to have with our previous Lodgers and C****y Island.

 

 

As promised to some, I thought I'd ping a couple up... A greatest hits of our forum (apt if I include a couple that include St. Albans.... ).

 

For starters, here's one that isn't a slag fest, just an amusing aside concerning "The Squatters". Things really haven't cchanged....
