Can anyone help?

I want to set up a Brighton Rebel website with all my articles i write for the programmes, plus other football related stuff i like.

Problem is i know nothing about setting up websites. Pretty sure i could get someone to host it quite cheap, and have all the articles in word, but don't know anything about design or uploading.

I'm not looking for the site to be flash, just easy to use, with probably quite a lot of links. It won't have match reports or anything cos that's done far better on the other three sites than i could sort.

So, can anyone help?

I'll be at the Chelmsford game quite early and could meet people in the Stag before the game if anyones interested.

Don't all rush at once.

BR - I need to get into the habit of putting your programme articles on the site again (will do this next week...), but if you want your own voice as such, have a look at the freespaces website. There's stuff on there including help guides which should sort you out.

What you can do, is write word documents and save them as HTML pages. Once you've done this you can put them on the website. I'll be happy to help you out next week? (I have an exam on Tuesday, so any time after that)

Hi Warren

I expect Aidan and I along with Phil and Lynn will see you in the Stag before the game. Of course they will have to drag me in for a drink but I will force myself.

See you tomorrow

Hmm,

I’d go with Gary’s suggestion of site hosting although you could try www.web1000.com. I’ve never used them, but there’s meant to be a lack of pop-up ads and it’s free I believe.

As for the editor. Well you can’t go wrong with Dreamweaver or Frontpage for a beginner, but you have to pay for them. You can download a 30-day trial of Dreamweaver though from the Macromedia site to help you build it. Then you can google ‘dreamweaver tutorials for building websites’ and you should be able to find plenty of stuff to help you.

May be worth building the site with the 30-day dreamweaver trial and then when that’s expired use one of the free tools to edit and update the site after that such as Crimson Editor or Edit Plus...

Hope that helps

Chris
