There is a story in this morning's paper about basketball legend Dennis Rodman who has just released his autobiography. In 1996 he was dating Madonna, apparently, and she was desperate to have his babies. According to the book, he was in Las Vegas and she was in New York when his cellphone rang. It was the love of his life and she said words to the effect 'right now is the right time in the month, come up here as quickly as you can and impregnate me, you dreamboat'.

 

Denis who, incidentally was 6ft tall at 18 but grew a further 10 inches [in height] in the next 12 months, caught the next plane to NY and did the necessary. He is quoted in the book:

 

"We got done and she was standing on her head in an attempt tp promote conception - just like any girl trying to get pregnant. I flew back to Las Vegas."

Its times like this that I realise that I've led a rather sheltered life.

It occurred to me that youngsters in schools should be introduced to contraception with the guidance: "Don't let the girl stand on her head after making lurve".
