Hi,

 

The draw has taken place for the next stage of the league cup. It will be played on a two leg basis.

 

Runners Up Group B v Winners Group D

Runners Up Group C v Winners Group C

Runners Up Group D v Runners Up Group A

Winners Group A v Winners Group B

 

 

BTW - the draw for the Gordon Brasted Trophy will take place at a later date.

then it should have been re-drawn. simple.

 

in the CL, which this is trying to mimic, you can't face a team which you've already played in your group. if the ball is pulled with that name on, it's redrawn.

I totally detest CL, WC and other major comps stupid seeding rules, but at least you would think that somebody might just engage a few brain cells, and come to the conclusion that it is sensible to keep teams from the same group apart.

This happened last year when u had group winners meeting group winners.

Will carry on moaning only if we qualify!

i don't see why the 2nd stage format could not have been drawn up before the competition had even started. before the teams were even put into their groups?

 

what's wrong with saying, after each team plays each other twice in their group, then

and have a draw for the semi finals?

have to say that its ridiculous and should have been reformated or predrawn....

 

sometimes good old common sense works wonders and I'm surprised as so far the ESL seem to be doing a good job on sorting these issues out..

What I cannot understand is why make a draw for a competition that has yet to be settled, and a contentious one at that, and not the GBT, where all eight quarter-finalists are already known?

Can somebody from the ESL step up to the hustings and explain all please?

i must agree the draw does seem a bit silly. dont count on a hornchurch, tilbury match the blue boys can still qualify. does goal difference come into play if the teams are level on points in this cup?

pathetic,i may not go to the tilbury games as i am fed up of playing tilbury,this would be the 4th and 5th time we have played them in 2 months,absolute joke

i will prob go to the home game but can't see me going tilbury 3 times this season so i guess tilbury will lose money as i can't see many people going 3 times
