It will be interesting to see the "list of players" who are all waiting to sign for the Town.

The supporters appear to be getting a bit upset about Players going, but, for the time being we all have to put our trust in Jim.

His record in the ESL was good / excellent.

How will he do at this level ?

Only time will tell. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

Surely if there is favoritism going around the club with certain players don't the board take note and take some sort of action. A club shouldn't be run like this and when this meeting comes at the end of the month it will all come out. There are alot of unhappy fans, who want there say,and will be there. Are you the guy who writes his bit in the gazette, Steve Anderson?? Because if you are, I must say that I agree with everything that you have written in the past couple of weeks. You speak what people think....

I'm sure the board do know this, they are all fans too and like any fan they have their own opinions who should be in the team. However, it is hard for them to criticise Jim if we are doing well in the league and we are getting the right results. We are still fourth which I would say is far better than I expected at the beginning of the season.

Whether i'm the bloke who writes in the gazette is a different matter. It depends who is asking.

Players come and go all the time at this level. I think we still have five from last season still with us. You've done brilliant so far .if you lose a few players you'll surely have better ones come in .so i wouldnt panic the only clubs you lot have to worry about is chatham and corby who are very good sides.

It's all about having your favourites. We all know players in the current and past Enfield Town teams that should not have been playing but continuously got chosen week in week out.
Unfortunately, Jim can't see past certain players. I've already made an offer to Jim to list them for him. I haven't heard from him yet.

Could not agree more, nothing more infuriating than seeing a player consistently picked while a far better player sits getting splinters, but then we are all managers behind the goal arnt we, but the concerning thing is how many of us agree, so are we all wrong?

Nyman has a goal ratio of 1 every 233 mins and a goal and assist ratio of 1 every 133. THis is across his ETFC career.
This season - 2 goals (+ 1 in a friendly) (313 mins played) Nyman has a goal ratio of 1 every 157 mins (no assists)
8 appearences, 5 as sub and sub'd twice. Started and finished 13% of his 8 appearences

Hammatt - 3 goals (This season 1165 mins played) has a goal ratio of 1 every 388 mins and a goal and assist ratio of 1 every 291.
14 appearences, 1 as sub and subd 3 times. Started and Finished 71% of his 14 games

All this information is freely available on my stats pages on the ETFC web page. I accept that stats can say anything and do not say anything about attitude, work rate, team spirit or anything else for that matter. I just put this here without comment.

I'm very impressed Jim. Purely in the interests of fairness, could you do a summary like this for all our strikers based on their performances in competitive matches this season, by chance?

I wonder who the loyal players were who Jim should have stuck with before he brought in the players that people are now saying he should stick with?

Players will come and go at all clubs and the crowd favourites that Jim will let go will be replaced for us and they will replace someone else's favourite at the club they join.

I don't think that is the issue, Brunob. The issue here is that certain players have continued to be played when they should have been dropped, while other players sit on the bench. I accept that new players being brought in could be better and the players who played for us may not be good enough in a higher league but if better players are on the bench then they should be played.

What chance has Stevenson had? What did Nyman do to be warming the bench when players who were not scoring played?

Jim is the manager and what he says goes. If the board aren't happy with Jim as manager he will go however I think that some fans are a little short sighted and, whilst proclaiming that Jim should be loyal to various players, they are not being loyal to the guy that has brought them the success that they have had in the last few years.

Obviously Jim is accountable to the board and the board to the supporters that is the way of a fan run club and, pefhaps more than most clubs, the fans will have their say but a football team is not run by committee, fans or players but by the manager.

It seems that Jim puts great store by experience and the players that consistently get picked have played at this level and higher for many years. The club has benefited from this experience in the past. We have had Mr Turner playing for us, Steve Baldwin, the fans favourite has played at a higher level, and now Russell Penn is having his best season for us as is Adam Gant.

Perhaps John Morgan and Bryan Hammett will demonstrate the advantage of experience over a 50 game season.

I know that Jim can spot football skills that many of us miss. Most of us will have a go at strikers if they are not scoring goals. That is what strikers have to put up with. It has to be said that if a striker is consistenly taking half chances then they would not be playing at step 4 or 5 of the football pyramid.

What has been demonstrated to us is that we need a reserve side. Perhaps we should have entered the capital league which is a midweek floodlit competition.

Well lets see what Saturday brings. We have suspensions and a few injuries, you never know what Jim's team will be, there might be a few suprises in there Im guessing... I wonder if Nyman trained last night with the Town or if he was at Ilford, does anyone know?? Terrible weather this morning, ha ha

Every manager of every team has his favourites who will be picked week in/out, you'd just hope that the favourites were clearly the best players in that position in the club at that time.

I think its a shame that Dean is so single minded about wanting to play as a central striker. At the moment the wide right berth is surely his for the taking, but he hasn't want to play there in the past. Still, if Ilford have promised him first team football in the cauldron that is Cricklefield as a central striker its probably tempting to take it. Not sure it will work out there for him, though. I sense that, on occasions, Dean's enthusiam for playing made it difficult for him to follow team orders. Which is a shame.
