Question for the supporters club?

Recommended Posts

Err.

I wasn't on the coach to/from Weymouth. It was suggested at the Supporters Club AGM by the Executive with the Transportation portfolio that a number of people had over-imbibed and the behaviour on the return journey was unacceptable, in his eyes. He mentioned, in addition that there was some damage to the toilet, but he did not link that to any named person. Not at the AGM, for certain.

The discussion which I found fascinating should not have taken place in public and was brought to an end by the Executive in charge of Bringing Inappropriate Discussions In Inappropriate Places To An End.

As far as Costello is concerned, are you sure of your summary, Zagreus? He's a declared monarchist and would be the last person that I could picture with any Republican leanings. If he was singing 'No Surrender' or 'The Sash', then I would say ban him for life. Why didn't someone politely ask him to desist if he was hassling someone?

How are the pigeons, by the way, Zag? Have you taken any precautions in the light of strain HB51?

I'd rather not, I got falsly accused of racism once and it sticks, even though these two were 100% guilty as I heard them with my own ears I'd rather that somebody else dealt with them who has the power to make a differnece, to these people I can give the names!

Actually, quite a few of the Sutton lads I spoke to on Saturday brought this incident up wanting to know if anything was done! I explained that only EFM get punished for anything at the park!

Laz also heard the offenders!

Fair comment, I guess.

If your name is different to the one I have (mine is a turnstile operator who refers to black players as 'nig-nogs' and 'coons', and refers to asians as 'f*king paki's'), then I'll happily hand the name of my guy over too.

(If anyone is offended by the language used in this post, then I'll censor the words)

I am, most certainly, offended by racism, although your post is a summary and doesn't require censorship for my benefit, CZ.

I have never heard any racist remarks by Saintsfans, and if I did, whoever they are, I wouldn't hesitate to encourage appropriate action being taken.

If it's there, it has got to be kicked out!!

A few comments from me...

1. I was accused of the Weymouth vandalism by a member of the supporters club committee. I have no recollection one way of the other. I have since been told that it wasn't me and that person has apologised to me. I really don't know but what the heck.

2. I was witness to racism from a City fan at Sutton. This was in full earshot of a black guy in the stand who took offence and started to cause a scene. I calmed the situation down at personal risk. The offender was not an EFM member.

3. I was informed by a Sutton steward after flare incident that there had two seperate reports of racism from City fans. Not from EFM members. This had been reported to City but, at the time, there had been no reply.

There's no point in complaining. It gets totally ignored, and besides, any complaint made by a member of EFM will not be taken seriously anyway.

To be honest, if I hear anything in the future, I will go straight to the Kick Racism Out Of Football website, and launch a formal complaint, adding that complaints made to the club are being ignored.

He's a good lad, had a few in the bar with us afterwards as well.

I think the problem is, unless incidents are EFM releated the club aren't interested and, like we found with the Aldershot message board incident, if they do take an intrest they blame it on EFM. And if they have to take notice, like when the press get hold of players assulting fans, they don't take the side of the victim and turn it around to EFM again!

He certainly does the stewarding thing well.

He gets the job done without upsetting anyone. Stockport and co could definately learn a thing or two.

Shame about Sutton's policy of not letting people in the bar until all the players are off the pitch (different steward). Then being really slow to serve.

The bar seems to have shrunk a bit too. There were only about 20 seats as I recall.

And what was with the "Rory Gallager" gig.

The man is dead. (Isn't he?)

Not keen on the bar at Sutton. The pub just opposite the ground is alot better.
