Letter received from Altrincham

Dear Wayne,

 

I am writing to thank you & everyone at Canvey Island Football Club for the very friendly welcome that we received on our first visit to Park Lane last week.

 

We were all very impressed with your new bar for away supporters & in fact this was a subject for discussion at our Supporters' Trust Board Meeting yesterday as we currently are unable to provide such a facility for travelling supporters at segregated games.

 

Canvey was our first unsegregated away match & whilst travelling to Nationwide Conference grounds has been a fantastic expeience to date,a number of our supporters commented that there was a very nice 'non-league' atmosphere at Park Lane.

 

Whilst the early kick off undoubtedly reduced our travelling support,I am sure that those who did travel spent a few bob in your bar.

 

We look forward to welcoming you to Moss Lane in the New Year.Hopefully the match will not be segregated & we can all mix for a drink both before & after the game.

shame they didnt mention one of their dickhead supporters that started a fight right in front of them though. lets hope he doesnt try and start another one when we go and visit them.

there is always 'one' .. lets hope we can keep as many games asposs unsegregated this season.. at least 'we' can get a f..king beer whenever we want then!!

they were a good bunch off lads even the 1 that did have a fight in the bar after wards he said sorry to every1 even kingy

it's it nice to hear that he apologised to everyone, i think he had to much to drink, which was why he was aggressive, it was just a shame it had to happen in front of both directors and kids including mine, but it was the only bit of violence i have seen in the three years i have been supporting canvey. Did the Canvey fan do the same, as he disappeared at half time, or was he ejected??.

The fans in question, both the Canvey fan, and the two Alty fans, went and shook hands after the incident, and they were very apologetic and all stayed in the ground. They seemed to accept it as handbags. Best forgotten!

Did not "have a fight in the bar afterwards"...!

Sorry for being picky Reiss but lack of .. & ,, can make the facts look wrong.

The Altrincham fans were a good bunch even the one who chucked his handbag at our man in the seats, who then threw it back.......bless.

The Alty' Ultra in question did then enjoy our bar at FT and apoligised profusely before supping yet more of our ale before venturing back to gravyland.

Quality day and a nice letter too.
