Every year on the FA's official website at www.thefa.com they highlight a team and follow the progress of the tournament through the eyes of their highlighted team. If that team gets beaten, then they follow the winners on to the next round and so on and so on..............

 

This year, the highlighted team is the team that beat Aveley in the last round...................Canvey Island!!!

 

It would be good to see The Rebels pick up some national coverage for once..........

Canvey, well it will be tough as they have such a good cup record, but over the last couple of seasons in the Ryman Premier we lost 1-0 to them 3 or four times I believe so there is nothing to be scared of.

 

I've actually seen Canvey this season against Aylesbury. Eventually they won 6-1 I think, but Aylesbury were down to 10 men and the Aylesbury defence went walkabouts that day especially in the second half. Anyway, early on if you pressure them they look vunerable. They have a class player in Jeff Minton in midfield, but don't have Wayne Vaughan anymore.

 

We'll have to see, if we give 100% we have a chance, so I don't see why one person in particular is being so negative?. Canvey know that the FA Cup can throw up any result as they found out when they have beat Northampton and other division two sides over the last couple of seasons.

 

Basically if we play like we did against Barking we'll lose heavily, but if we play like we did against Hampton and get a few players back then we have a good chance.

The best thing in Slough is the road out.

Canvey are to fast, to clever and they can play football.

We may not have Wayne Vaughan anymore (not that we miss him), but we do have Lee Boylan. Scored 43 goals last season, (only beaten in the UK, by Henrik Larsson I think).

 

Looking forward to coming to Wexham Park again! (Oh s**t last time we played in our away kit we lost!) It'll be a tough game for us and lets hope your boys are up for it! (Ok maybe not)
