Pity in particular if Brown has left as he did seem a good option as right wingback where Greg seems very injury prone

Shame about Brown but he was being put all over the place and I couldnt blame if he was getting fed up with it. It must be hard enough adapting to new surroundings without being told to play three or four different positions in a dozen games.

Not fussed about Burke. IMO he lacked committment. Watson was way off the pace.

Burke was proberbly the ONLY one who showed commitment. When he was asked to come on he looked comfortable on the ball and passed easy balls, not to mention his attacking forays down the wing from a position at the back that he filled very well. His lack of games will have seen him go and I am sure in the future you will hear at lot of him from elswhere.

Sorry Porka I have to disagree with you on this one.

i hope it is Ian Hilaire. Does not posses the pace, gets caught off side often enough to be careless, refuses to chase a ball going to keeper to put on the pressure. I believe when played with Elis Remy he hinders.Just my personel opinion

I think most rate Hilaire.

If true re £ leaving, particularly disappointed that we could not get something better out of Darren Watson.

Someday, someone will and as per Akpo Sodge we will all be frustrated, and sooner or later he willl come good, but guess CK can't wait forever !!

Pure speculation on my part, but have a feeling Darren will end up at Dover and come back to haunt us and Ryman defences.

Equally disappointed re Brown, as thought he looked good at wing back and more than capable of replacing Greg who so sadly seems too injury prone these days.

I guess Brown saw himself as a forward or pure midfielder though, where we do seem to have better

Today's local paper reports that Watson, Burke and Brown have left the club.

Watson 'never fulfilled his potential', Burke 'is young and he wants to be playing regular football' and Brown 'has problems with work'

Would have been nice to have read this on the official website. Presumably someone from the club has spoken to the press.

Sorry but i do not.Talking to a couple of people at the club today(no one official)they feel the same.Thats the beauty of the forum now. we can all have our seperate views and non of the silliness. Basicly it said in the local paper today that darren had moved on . Andrew Burke had a couple of other clubs he could go to and young Germaine Brown was having problems mixing work commitments with his football. It also said that he hoped Leon braithwaites work related problem was over.

Well, I am sorry that we will not see Darren again. He was with us through the hardest times, and gaves us plenty to smile about during that period.

He is a lovely lad, and I am very fond of him, and will miss his big grin, and the fact that he always made time to chat.

I hope he finds a good club to play with in the future, and I wish him all the best.

Good luck too to Brown and Burke - both good players, I thought.

[color:"blue"]The trouble with big Darren was that he has the potential but rarely shows it. He did, after all, score a hat-trick away in a Conference match - no mean feat. Last season he showed that as a substitute for twenty or so minutes he could scare the s**t out of tired defences. Now this season he's done virtually nothing (only 'shining' against a poor and lowly Cowes Sports side), and has even been substituted twice after coming on as a sub. Chris spoke in today's Thanet Times of how he's been with us for some time now and still hasn't realised his potetial, so can only guess he's been released as CK has run out of patience with him.

The situation with Burke & Brown is really a case of sorry but you arrived a season too late, both would have been a welcome addition to last seasons squad and had a regular place in the side. But this season - with greater resources and the pulling power of a 'new ground' filled with large crowds,Chris has been spoilled for choice in the transfer market and neither has had a settled role in the side.

I can live with loseing Watson he has been a shadow of the player we hoped he would be, he gave us those little displays of class and then he wouldnt do anything for next 5 games.

Now the loss of Burke and Brown comes as a shock i think both players have shown real class when they have been called upon both are decent footballers asked to play in a medieval formation and compleatly out of there natural postion.

And now we have lost Annon <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Agree with previous comments. I am sure Darren is a nice guy, but his first touch let him down, and basically so did his last touch. And his stamina. Hope he does well elsewhere (except against Gate of course). Brown: always asked to play out of position, except maybe against Staines when he came on and scored. Burke: shiny boots too pretentious, but apart from that controlled the ball well and worked hard. I reckon we will hear more of him.

It is a shame that Darren has been sacked. He has real potential which has not been fully realised.

He has scored some terrific goals for the club giving us rich entertainment. He has also stayed with the club during difficult times. Perhaps another manager and another club can help him fulfil his potential. He is the last of last season's strikers, Rocky, Che and Moses to depart.

I wish him success in the future.
