alexis seems to have good games and bad, today i thought he was one of our better players, the same on tuesday, but he has had some shockers, but then again the whole team has too

I thought Alexis did quite well today and has shown some improved form in recent games.

I've got no problem with Alexis ON the ball. Great passing at times and some good skill. It's OFF the ball I have a problem with Alexis. Needs to be more comitted in the tackle, track runners and do a bit more running.

Avery played well first half, but second half struggled. He reminds me so much of Anthony Howard. Might sound silly, but wonder if Eddie would try him at right back in a 4-4-2?

Thought Wilko struggled today without Mets in centre mid. Wondering if he's carrying an injury as his ankle was strapped first half under his sock.

Sadly Matt Seedel's just not at the races at the moment but we know what he is capable of. Although after all this time him and Hodgey up as a 2 just don't work together.

Last season you were incorrect with your critisisum - now it fits!

I think Eddie is lost without Micky as he has failed to jugle the team when required - yes he has his hands tied due to money limits.

i feel sorry for eddie he is a hell of a manager coping with financial restraints and an inconsistant team. yes sometimes i dont think hes made the correct decisions but hes doing a good job wuth limited resources

I think we need to get a bit realistic. With the players we lost and the reduction in the Budget it was always going to be a hard long season. With the squad we have we should finish mid table comfortably, not be knocked out by Ryman One opponents.

Still think we are good enough to easily stay up as there are easily 5-6 teams in the division worse than us in my opinion - and come on we have not had it bad lately in recent years. This is probably only our second sticky period since Browne left. Eddie will sort it.

BTW although losing Micky Lewis was a blow, I don't think that's the reason behind the defensive collapse as Gilkesy was there the season before that without Micky and we were fine then...

Wasn't at the time, so can't comment. All i can say is last season we were very, very fortunate to win at croydon in the fa cup.

On the Alexis front, I thought he played much better on Tuesday but had a shocking first half today. His second half performance was better and he does have some good touches. My point with him is that he has yet to show me enough consistency to prove he can hack it at this level. If he proves me wrong I will be delighted btw!!!

I don't think it is wrong to state which players we think are underperforming, sometimes it can even have a positive effect.

Look, today was a disaster whatever way you look at it, Orig-Opti may actually have a point for once on the state of the team, but not in his comments about Eddie. He has been fantastic for STFC, it is not his fault, as others have said, that he has no funds to work with.

We have shown glimpses this season that this squad of players can perform and get results (2nd halves against Maldon and Oxford City, 1st half against Worthing, majority of the game at Margate). But the squad needs more strength in depth which at the moment we don't have the resources to find.

All we can do is continue to support the team, results will come, maybe not as frequently as recent seasons, but they will come, and I personally have every faith that Eddie will keep us up this season, which, as a realist is all we can ask for.

Agree that listing those underperforming is ok and the one's I was referring to were Parky (who needs a rest), Wilko (by his own very high standards) and Mason (who in fairness is coming back from injury). It's not right however to list those that I think just aren't good enough!

See that Joe got two for Croydon Ath against you yesterday. Did he play well overall against you. If he wasn't so injury prone he'd still be with Wimbledon and there's rumours that if he can prove his fitness there he MAY return. Anyway not a good result for you yesterday although Newport IOW probably outdid you're opponents by winning at H&R. Looking forward to your visit to Kingsmeadow and your 300+ traveling support.

300+ travelling support? Certainly not the way we're playing at the moment. Think we may hit 150-200 but certainly can't see us doing 300.

Sheerin played well. His height caused us problems if nothing else and I remember you lot saying you were looking for the 'battering ram' centre forward. Think he could fit that bill, but looked a bit 'portly' yesterday, so think fitness may still be an issue for him.
