Head Butt not Punished ?

Not that it matters to me, but was the ref the only one in the ground who doesn't think that Head Butts are common assault ?

From where I was standing it looked a clear Head Butt on your no 6 woodward, and the evidence was there to see in the Bar afterwards.

What's the FA's stance on common assault is it ok in a game of football ?

Yes, Pathetic referring yesterday.Player viciously headbutted.Ref had his back to incident(which in itself was poor reffing).Then he promptly marches over and gives both players a yellow card. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shrug.gif" alt="" />

From the other end of the pitch the headbutt looked unprovoked and nasty. To book both players the ref must have thought Kieron did something to provoke it (like a verbal)?

 

Butt yes the town fans nearest me agreed the Berkhamsted player should have walked on a straight red.

 

You described it as Common Assault, I would argue a case might be equally made for Actual Bodily Harm (albeit a single headbutt).
