Er no Timmy Hambley has taken a massive cut in wages to move to Hornchurch actually!Tim works with me at my soccer school and wants to develop as a coach.He could not give up all of his time to Tonbridge so he has deceided to drop down a level,still play and take his coaching badges etc....

its to do with wanting to be part of a family that is going where it's customers (yes we have them) demand and to do with a fanbase that give their all for the players and the club without moaning and groaning and without nutters constantly self promoting themselves about what they do on websites...fans who cheer them on regardless of the score or the result...fans that are there thru thick and thin and who haven't just jumped onto a self serving bandwagon...(not that we could accuse you of that at romford of course) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Myself and Mick were told on thursday nights training that the new keeper would be automatic number on choice. Although Mick has played and then I got my chance and did well in the games i have played in. Someone is picking the team and its not John or the managment staff. We were told that he will go straight into the team no matter what. John told me when I signed that when I was in the team that he would be worried that someone would try and sign me and I would leave Hornchurch, I told him I was here for the season. Its a shame that loyalty was nto shown by him or the person picking the team! Apparently he is the complete keeper.....or so we were told!

the players...the fans...the staff...the owner...the urchinetts (now that I would believe) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

its always disappointing when a player feels he is not a first team automatic choice but in truth who is.?...nicky cowley was dropped a few weeks ago...didn't like it and made it clear that he didn't...came back in the week after and was man of the match...thats the way to do it methinks.....prove the point on the pitch....not on here...

 

as for john's team...well he brought them all to the club and he picks 'em and a good job he's doing as well...top of the league and getting stronger by the game...unless its in a players contract no one gets a guaranteed first team place...thats footie as they say...

 

I understand that you have decided to leave the club Lee and thats a pity as you are undoubtedly a good player and I hope and trust that you do well at your next club....

well if its not john picking the team.i would like to thank whoever is because he is doing a great job.. its like any other club when top players are up for grabs you try and get him or should we stand still and let them go elsewhere?

personally i dont think we had a problem in the goalkeeping department with myself, mick and rhys coming through. True we are top of the league and going well but that doesn't mean that players should be put straight into the team as players should earn the right to be in there first. I am not proving a point just being honest with whats happened as the people who pay the entry fee each week deserve to know.

Pleased for you standard. I wonder what will happen when another manager comes along and the chairman wants him in the team?? I hope the players that are there do get promotion as they are a good bunch of lads. Thanks to Gilly for training over the past couple of months.

Well we don't have Chairman...we have a Chairlady (Jennie) and a Managing Director (Jonno)....neither one of them would have actually seen John play or indeed have probably not even met him....

 

as for our fans knowing whats going on....our club is very transparent Lee in that respect...there are not many clubs where the fans and staff know so much about the team and the players and also where they have such close contact with them....

 

I think you will find that you will get little joy on here with such comments as JoLo is much loved and respected....

wardy mate i am a humble fan and have only just started my love affair with afc hornchurch. i have never played at a great level but love the game like millions of others.but one thing i know is that whats said in the dressing room between managers and players SHOULD never come out..we get a new keeper and someone posts on micheal colliers behalf and now you try to stir things up

 

 

funny old game football aint it.i dont want to get into a fight with you wardy but lets let sleeping dogs and all that..plus you are much younger than me much fitter and much quicker.mind you after talking to a couple of guys who went to the waltham forrest capital league game theres a chance i might slip through your fingers <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

like uncle i wish you all the best and i would think most afc fans would do the same.head up and thanks for the time you spent with us..
