3 red cards in the space of 11 minutes summed up a miserable night for Colin Lippiatts men at Rockingham Road last night. Kettering opened the scoring on 23 mins, Ollie Burgess latching onto a James Gould cross. Just 2 minutes later and the Saints found themselves 2 down. A poor headed back pass from Matt Hann was picked up by Gould who rounded Paul Bastock in the City goal. City only had one chance before the break, Simon Martin shooting high over the bar.

Burgess scored his second just after half time to seal the tie for Kettering and then it really started going from bad to worse for City.

Lee Clarke was stretchered off on 50 mins with an ankle injury. Burgess completed his hattrick on 69 mins to make it 4-0.

Olewale Ojelabi was given a straight red on 74 mins - just 10 mins into his City debut - for a foul on Christian Moore and Scott Cousins was also given a straight red for a lunge on Wayne Diuk 11 mins later. Patrick Ada received his marching orders for a second yellow card during an 18-man melee.
