Chester match

Recommended Posts

Well done Fleet for a well earned point. No doubt the 10 minutes injury time tested the players especially as we were down to 10 players for about 8 of them.

I agree Slartibartfast our injury woes seem to have worsened, Jacko's injury appears to be very bad but lets hope its not as severe as made out.

A great result today...nice one men !! Although tainted by the injury aforementioned and the sending off.....I assume Mr Strouts burped in the centre circle...or an equally dispicable offence ?? Yellow cards seem to be like confetti these days !!!

Starti B - did you get my E Mail requesting the address of the chap for the Bedford video ?

Let's get loads down there next week for the Leigh game !!

And...by the way....if it gets desperate...Andrew C was a colossus at the centre of defence in his prime...and Rob F was a mean full back.....

...sign them up !!

Cheers,

Hi,

Still got my boots although I'd have to clear the spiders out of them.

Colossus at the back and everywhere else, but that's enough about my build. During my time with Springfleet Albion I can remember during one game while we were facing up for a corner Robin F. running off the pitch, punching a mouthy supporter from the other side and running back on again in time to clear the ball.

Now that's what I call mean.

Lets not forget that Liam has also gone off injured - I just hope his injury isnt too serious either - according to my father, both he and Jacko were stretchered off.

It sounded a real backs to the wall job, based on those short reports from RK - it was nice to know they couldnt even be bothered to report the final score, let alone give a final match summary - when the guy reported at 5 past 5, the game was still going, and on the 6 o'clock news they mentioned Gills result from yesterday again, but couldnt be bothered to say anything about Flee

We've now played 6 of the seven sides above us, and our record reads Won 2 drawn 3 lost 1 - not bad given our injury position, and the fact we're part time and all those others are full time.

Given the circumstances, a great result & the boys continue to perform wonders.

Up the Fleet !!

If I remember correctly, the said Rob F got booked ? for returning to the field of play without the ref's permission ( after punching the opposition supporter ! )...ahhh happy days indeed !

cheers,

I think you're bieng a bit hard on Matt. He often comes on here and time and again explains the situation: ie. that we are not the ONLY team in Kent, that we get our fair share depending on our level/success/fanbase, etc.

Yes, coverage of the game in Chester would have been nice and there's improvements RK can make to their coverage, but they've improved immensely over the last season and a half and instead of always saying they're crap, I for one think they deserve a bit of credit for at least trying and communicating with us.

I have to agree with Stu M on this one, although for those of us who can't go to the away games a radio commentary would be nice we have to accept that we are supporting the Fleet not Scumchester united and we will not be on the radio every week.

I thought Radio Kent did an excellent job of covering the promotion race at the back end of last season and no doubt if want to get similar coverage then we need to get a match that generates interest outside the regular 1000 fleet fans be it promotion/relegation or more likely FA cup.

Also if you check out the Radio Kent website they did a live text service while the Chester match was taking place which updates every 2 minutes. It's not as good as coverage on the radio obviously but it does let you know whats happening.
