I have never heard such drivell from a "presenter".

I just do not understand why he has to sound so bloddy cheerful when the opposition score and then at the end of the match tell everyone ( the majority being Town supporters ) what a great team have just beaten us !!

Just give the team info, tell us who scores, tel us who is sub etc then, AS THE FINAL WHISTLE GOES........ SHUT UP. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

I think the mad-man is a natural public speaker and does a good job, apart from two aspects.

 

1. He should try to be a bit more accurate with the announcing of who is being substituted and the timing of substitutions (and the timing of goals).

 

2. Please go through the usual after-match chirpy routine IF we have won.If not, KEEP QUIET.To have our announcer praising the away team so happily after the whistle and giving awful refs a freindly 'name-ckeck' as they leave the pitch, is a complete wind-up.

If the club decides to opt for pre-match or half-time entertainment, (which is usually dreadful at football matches) then so be it. But the official club announcer should be restrained and dignified, and confine himself to the facts: the teams and official's names before the match, and the names of scorers with the time of goal scored. That's it.
