Never mind Ryan you can now have Saturday week off.
Coz we won 3-1 you know.

Which is utter crap for me, because this means it would not be any match on the 22nd, the weekend I'm over to watch Billericay...

So then it's QPR-Norwich instead...

We're coming on sunday anyway, to watch the U18 and the ladies team.

The club could re-organise an fixture, like the East-Thurrock game was.

I wouldn't mind that at all, because it's Billericay Town we're coming over to see, but how likely is it to happen?

3 games on the bounce that we were winning and couldn't hang on also 1 win in 11

It get's worse if you look back to the end of last season as well!
Played a total of 21 games from April 2nd and won just six of them.
Of the 12 games played at home over the same period,we won just 2!

Do we need reminding? Is anyone going to temper thier disapointment with some positive, constructive thought?

The first half was mid table Ryman League football until we scored. Then we dominated. Second half wasn't as bad as it has been but that could've been down to that Leyton really didn't have that much in their locker.

Again, an early goal in the second dropped our heads and you could see the confiedence drop. At times, I thought we'd stopped!!! Then again, at times I thought we'd got going but that was as much down to Leon Hunter, who, I thought, had a great game.

From where I'm standing we do need someone to boss the back four and talk. I heard Gary Henty give instruction but he isn't in the "mix" so to speak when he is asked to push forward as well.

It's October...the season isn't over and there is plenty of time to put things right, starting from this Saturday. We have got to get that habit of winning again and I think it's a confiedence issue, not a talent issue. Also, maybe, experienece.

I'm with you on this one, really struggling to find much to take out of this one, other than we didnt lose. I didnt realise the record since last season was as bad as that but it really is. I wonder what the optimists amongst us will say?

I dont think a league table gives a false impression, Leyton were not much to fear and are probably in the right area of the league, and it has to be said so are we. A game is over 90mins so there is no point in people saying that all we have to do is play like we do in the first half in the 2nd half. Its no good saying that if it wasnt for a silly mistake we wouldnt have lost. The fact of the matter is, we are not playing well for a whole game, not creating enough chances, and we are struggling at the back and our mistakes are costing us. Surely we shouldnt need a 3 goal lead in order for us to win a game?

If I was to give some positives, i felt Gamo, Nathan and Kerrers all played really well last night. I just dont know what went wrong last night.

Gazza says " Do we need reminding? Is anyone going to temper thier disapointment with some positive, constructive thought?"

Let me say some positive things.

If you didn't have a two goal cushion then you'd have lost all three points now thats a positive way to view things. You guys have the 'half empty glass' syndrome real bad. You're mid table you've won as many as you've lost, there are as many clubs below as there are above, now there's positive number two. If you're unhappy then you should consider how the supporters of the lower clubs must be feeling. Last night you drew with a club that went further in the promotion stakes than yourselves last season, thats yet another positive. Leyton also recently drew at super soaraway inter-galactic Braintree so matching that looks decent. Thats four positives to go with your four wins, four draws and four defeats.

Why shouldn't we be reminded of the facts? If you can put a positive spin on that, then there's a job for you in New Labour's government! Something needs to change, either Edinburgh brings in 4/5 better standard players or he goes. We haven't progressed from last season, and with the current squad we have, we won't progress any further up the table.

Oz, i think the difference here is that maybe teams like Maldon would have expected to have been in the postion there are in. We came second last year and I think the expectation, rightly or wrong, was that we would carry on from where we left off. Prehaps as fans the expectation we have placed is too high? maybe the league is stronger this season (i think it is)?

Brolly, If you want to progress, then you have to deal with the pressure.

Paul, Yes the League is stronger, but I think it right to expect at least the same level of performance, if not better, from the players that were here Last season.

Ryan I agree with your sentiments.

But to expect that we get in 4/5 better standard players is far easier said than done. As you all know, our playing budget has not, and will not, be increased until such time as the club can finance it itself.

Elwood. Looking back to last season serves no purpose; we don’t need to go looking for doom and gloom. (Was second place that bad?) We have to deal with the reality that is this season.

I'm sure changes will be made, Billericay Town FC is quite rightly a very demanding club, and I can assure you, everyone connected with the club is working towards a common goal. But fck me it’s hard sometimes, we just have to deal with it.

As much as we all want it, an instant success is not a reality.

Well maybe not a positive spin but how about criticism with a solution? Oh, I see you've done that.

Success and faliure is a thin dividing line. We were 2 minutes from getting a scrappy 2 - 1 win and if we had, would the opening post have been the same? Would we all have been dejected after the game? In hindsight (as we all know the result), I suspect, the answer would be yes.

But some use hindsight as a premise to voice their definitive answer to all solutions. My answer to my question would be "No, it wouldn't be the same, although, I doubt we would've lavished praise on the performance". And that is okay because the performance certainly didn't warrant "lavish" praise.

As it was, we got a draw, after losing a 2 - 0 lead. Not a great end result to last nights game but certainly not, in my opinion, utter crap. We played, at times, some good football, especially after we scored. The second half was disapointing (damn disapointing) but from where I was watching looked more to do with a lack of confiedence than a lack of talent.

And before anyone comes back to me and say's was I happy with last nights result, the answer is no, I'm not but I certainly disagree that it was and is utter crap.

We were watching a different game then Gaz. If we played 'some good football' then good football should lead to good chances being created. How many saves did thier keeper make? How many chances did we create? Yes TC I agree, its the easiest thing in the world to suggest 'why don't we buy him?', or 'why can't we have that player?'. We have a benchful of players chomping at the bit to start, so I'd personally make a start there and play the lot.

What i dont understand is that we have a number of full time players and our extra fitness should be evident in the 2nd half of matches but the total opposite has been happening and we've been the team looking tired and hanging on in most games. We've now failed to score in 10 out of 14 games in the 2nd half, a worrying statistic.
