Staines

No, I agree. Staines have built themselves up with a very good & expensive side. Recent form hasn't been good, so that should give us hope, but matches against them have always been difficult in recent seasons.

Even more reason to get behind the lads tonight regardless of the score.

Strange and frustrating game. They dominated for long periods and they are a good side, but there was a lack of pressure on the man on the ball, and only when we got the goal we then seemed to start doing simple things right.

In midfield Staines players were not being tracked at all - just given free runs and finding space easily. Kinda shows what a great job Mets does for the team as he picks up the runners and protects the back line. Doing the 'donkey work' that is simple and few see and appreciate but it's so effective and important.

We did well after we got the goal and finally did not give them time on the ball and they looked less of a decent side - just so many basic errors that went wrong tonight cost us - things you are taught as a kid really which will annoy eddie most i'm sure.

Still a bit worried about the lack of depth in the squad though. I washoping now Shep's gone and looks like Brooks is not coming back then Eddie would be able to add a couple to the squad?

A difficult game for the The Rebels...at times we were under serve pressure the defence did its best but shame we let in the 2 very (soft) goals...We played to be fair for about 20 mins in the second half and Steve's last minute shot went centimeters wide, Staines had plenty of chances to put the score beyond us...but they did not and Slough showed glimpses of what we can do in the last 20mins...just a shame we did not get that equaliser ...maybe not deserved but never the less would have been nice... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Keep at it boys...we are 100 % behind you if you fight and battle...

staines had way too many free headers when we were attacking, its a shame we didnt start playing til the hour mark!

once again the officials were complete idiots, im beginning to think that this is a standard requirement for them at this level!!!

dont think we deserved an equaliser, but it wouldve been good to get one

UP THE REBELS!

Slough at present are a side lacking self belief confidence and passion does'nt help with Chopper and Metcalfe both out injured.

Leigh Mason still needs time to recover after his bad injury at present not the same player as last year, when the strikers do get the ball the support is,nt there from midfield as they are playing to deep and we won't score if we don't shoot the first real shot last night was in the 93rd minute.

And we have'nt replaced the passionate want to win attitude of Micheal Murpy and the calm defending of James Salisbury.

I am an optimistic supporter but at the moment can't see where our next 3 points are comming from.
