BEWARE WINNING THE NATIONAL LOTTERY!

 

The latest scam which features 'too good to be true news' (because they often are) centres on the National Lottery. Residents have reported receiving e.mails informing them they have won £260,000 and to follow a set of on-line instructions. Clearly, when you buy a lottery ticket you are not required to submit your e.mail address, so this is a scam from the very outset.

 

The National Lottery website, national-lottery.co.uk, provides useful information about current scams. Should you receive these e.mails never click on a website address which is embedded in the text of a suspicious e-mail.

And there was me thinking you had to check your ticket to see if all six numbers matched, or less as the case may be?

Or am I stating the obvious again?
