[Urchins]

A good result today and an important one.

 

We started well and scored after 6 minutes when debut man Andrew Martin headed in from a Gavin McGowan cross. We had the majority of possession for most of the half until Uxbridge made a substitution about ten minutes before the break and the game became a bit more even. Steve Jones had a good chance blocked by the keeper in the 40th minute with Danny Cowley's follow up header pushed round the post.

 

One or two scares for both sides in the second half but Uxbridge enjoyed more possession towards the end as they pressed for an equaliser. Our defence though was watertight and this was the difference between the two sides on the day.

 

Line-up:- Wood, McGowan, Bates, Jopson, Risley, Marsden, Fox, Cowley, Jones, Martin (Cripps 87), Locke (Lowery 77). Subs not used: Rothon, Dyson, Moulding.

i thought that fir 25 mins we were exactly what everione wants us to be and, in truth, what we expect to be...prob not far off micks 1st choice team..(wee man excepted) difficult to see whos gonna make way for him but someone will have to...good result...need more staying power i think. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif" alt="" />

Good to see a travelling army of fans made it to Uxbridge to swell the crowd to a bumper 75. A far cry from the division 3 days. The publicity is working.

there wasn't any away support to speak of (although full credit to those hardy dozen that did go) so we must assume that you're having a bit of fun.... the game also wasn't advertised, we only advertise the home games. The most important factor with regards to gates at the present time is concentration on the stadium, once we have achieved our goals there, we can then address the issue of away support and also surrounding issues such as away supporters coaches and such like.
