OK, so we're choosing a new theme song/chant for the Rebels.

"Parklife", alas, is no longer relevant - the lyrics don't make much sense unless we're playing at Wexham Park.

So, what about the other two?

Both are equally singable, and neither lyric is appropriate for a football chant as it stands...

"Rebel, Rebel" - David Bowie

Rebel Rebel you've torn your dress

Rebel Rebel your face is a mess

Rebel Rebel how could they know

Hot Tramp I love you so

"Rebel Yell" - Billy Idol

In the midnight hour

She cried more, more, more

With a rebel yell

She cried more, more, more

Owww

In the midnight hour, babe

With a rebel yell

There is scope for adjustment to Rebel Yell, for example:

From the terraces

We cried more, more, more

With a Rebel yell

We cried score, score, score

...

But I know that you're all much better at coming up with lyrics than I am

I'm not sure the debate was about what to sing, it was what the team should run out to, played over the tannoy.......at least that's what I understood although I like the changes to Rebel Yell, PJ!

That said, many football 'anthems' don't necessarily make sense. Man City sing Blue Moon because of the word "blue" without changing the words. Stoke City sing Delilah for no apparent reason at all but it sounds bloody good at full pelt in a full stadium. The most bizarre though was at the last England v Scotland game at Wembley before they knocked it down. I was sat next to 6000 scots who sang "Doe a deer" from the Sound of Music for almost 90 minutes!

Only without the Gareth Gates stutter!!!!!!! We get Up Up Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Byron threw our club away'

'Byron threw our club away'

'Rebels get knocked down, but we Get up Again'

'You're never going to keep us down'

Just an idea, not bad for a bald fat old fart I thought!

Like Ian Said, Songs sound great with thousands of fans singing in large, covered stadiums, but with just a handful singing at Stag Meadow i cant see it making any difference. Also, the songs Teams sing have a decent and loud Chorus, like Delila, Blue Moon and The Liquidator so surely the only Song mentioned with any sort of a chorus would be Parklife?

With the atmosphere and excitement at a Championship game everyone in the crowd sings, but a Ryman League fixture at Windsor doesn't get you too excited.
