sorry for the confusion. i have just returned from holiday and had a brief email sent to me by patto. So i thought i would post up just to make people aware of the fact there is a benefit game fo him with ''news to come''(waiting for patto himself to fill in the blanks) ,as the date is getting close.

 

All the money raised at the club on match day will be going to vinnie. The usa legends thing is not being organised by use but they have kindly said they will donate a fee for every ticket sold thru east thurrock to vinnie's fund.

VJ started his senior football with Dagenham & Redbridge under Ted Hardy - whilst with Dagenham

1996/97 41 matches - 13 goals

1997/98 - 9 matches - 1 goal

 

First match for Dagenham - 17/8/96 v Harrow

Last match - 22/9/97 v Bromley.

 

He was a great favourite at Dagenham, largely due to his habit of going behind the goal each time he scored and running along the perimeter, and high fiving the supporters.

 

After he left D&R, he went to Romford, then Grays and then to Stortford.

 

I think it is likely that, if he is asked for his most memorable match, he will almost certainly choose the FA Trophy final v Woking, when he also met Pele - the large colour photo is in the Dagenham social complex.

 

Sorry but my HFC stats for 02/03 and 03/04 are incomplete so I do not know VJs appearances and goals total.

 

The post at ETU is incredibly lacking in detail - when is the match?

however...........

 

unfortunately although our young digger dagger dogger wants to be a forum king he slips up always at the point when the post should be thoughtful and not kneejerk...I doubt for one minute that he meant what he posted above and he had the grace to apologise for that.....

 

we move on...this is important....vinny will not play again and is apparently struggling to work as well due to his injury......we really should do something and I will be guided by you urchins....whichever way you want to play this is fine by me....but lets do something...

 

he played his heart out every time he put a Hx shirt on...I love the kid and always have...but you guys decide what you want to do...I'll go with that.........and so will our sponsors....

 

we as a club will give some support to the ETU event but if you guys want to do something as a Hx effort after their event ...

 

well...................

 

we'll support that 100% ....
