today my son was playing an under16's game, our forward was tackled from behind and knocked flying, the ref didnt speak to the opponent and pulled our lad up for supposing spitting on the grass, and then awarded a free kick to the otherside.

 

when I approached the ref at half time, his words were, he didnt deem it dangerous enough and with intent, but was more worried about the spitting.

 

can some one explain whats more serious
