It was a fantastic result and today I'll ignore the negative bits and give praise and credit where its due...... Nice one Tony Boot! Its been a long time since a Slough player has got a hat trick and to do it in a game as important as this against a team from a higher division is fantastic!

Hampton didn't look like much, but after they got their dodgy penalty I was a little concerned about how we would react...... but we did the business and roll on the next round.

Anyone for Woking at home???? !!!

To add a bit more to that, Slough were excellent today, probably the best they have played since the Northwood game. Boot got a second half hat-trick. Howard put us in the lead with three minutes to go till half time with an excellent volley but Hampton equalised in the fifth minute of injury time (R. Browne and A. Brown were both injured, A. Brown came on for injured R. Browne). In second half Slough played even better and looked like the higher level team. Boot scored after turning in Winston's saved shot, then an open goal from Spencer's deflected strike and his third came from a superb run on the right side of the area by Veli Hakki. In between his second and third goals, Hampton got an absolutely shocking penalty decision (this after Winston had had two clear penalties turned down) which they scored for 3-2. Although at times the scores were tight Slough definately deserved to win and the passion from all the players today was there for all to see. Everyone played a part today and at the end the scenes were fantastic with the whole squad on the pitch and many sections of the crowd (not just those behind the goal) applauded the team off the pitch. Can't decide whether we want to play Woking in the final qualifying round or actually have a game that will test us . In all seriousness though I think I would prefer a home game against a lesser club. Lets get into that First Round like the good old days. Up the Rebels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday was bad, but today was brilliant. Stuffed them. decent crowd (536) went away well happy. 3 substitutions due to injuries to defenders though, which will stretch our squad for the league games. To have played so well despite having to make 3 subs in our defence was a credit to the whole team. Roy M said on Radio Berkshire that he was hopeful we would sign a centre back from Chelmsford (either permanently or on loan) in the next few days--looks as if we might need to.

Brilliant result. How can anyone name one player as "Man of the Match"? A good team performance.

Made the long journey home fly past, and great to hear the post-match on Radio Berkshire.

Roll on Oxford on Saturday, good luck for Tuesday night.

Great Result. Get in. Hampton were awful. But today we created so many chances and took a good proportion of them. How often does that happen to the Rebels? If we can carry that form into the next two league games we will be right back up there. Does anyone know exactly when the draw is?

What a fantastic second half performance, only spoiled by a soft penalty to make the score more respectable for Hampton. Tony Boot took his chances very well - a couple of the goals looked fortuitous but you've still gotta score them. I can really see us making the First Round now - is it just one more round to go? How many Qual Rounds are there??

Every player played magnificently today but I must point out I don't trust Jean Zepherin's kicking. I didn't see but I heard he struck a goal kick straight at Palmer's head?

Anyway congratulations Slough

Last qualifying round before the First Round 'Proper'. Draw for the fourth round is made on Monday morning at around 11 a.m. As soon as I have it, I will post it to the mailing list.

The 'big boys' come in on this round. All I hope for is a home draw. Getting into the First Round Proper would be very nice for a 2000+ crowd as well.

So do the Conference sides enter the 4th Qual round? I don't want us to be knocked out now, coming so close, having already won through 4 rounds.... I have a feeling we can do it though. If we can play like we played today every match, we should do it.

All 22 Conference sides are exempt until the 4th Round, so there is every chance we could be drawn up against a southern Conference side as I believe the draw is still regionalised.

Otherwise, Flackwell Heath at home would be nice (they beat Purfleet 1-0 today) and Team Bath (The first University side in 100 years to enter the FA Cup) won 3-0 at Newport County.

Otherwise, struggling Woking at home could be an attractive propsect if well marketed by the club. A home draw is essential, even more so should we get through the next round.

Funny that, after the way we humiliated Purfleet today, Slough was one of the clubs we fancied next (only joking) ! Well done today though you lot. To be honest, we would probably rather have an opportunity of another final pay day against any lower side left or a Conference side with good crowds. Today's win keeps us as the biggest money earners from FA competitions in the country this season, so you can imagine how chuffed we all are. C ya!

I thought the first penalty claim by Sammy was not a penalty - it was Sammy looking for a penalty and a superb defensive tackle which won the ball cleanly.

The Hampton penalty I have no idea about - but the ref had been whistling for a while before to tell the players to cut the handbags.

The second Sammy penalty was about as blatant as anything I have seen in all my years watching football. Both legs taken out from under sammy, no attempt to play the ball.

Prize fund is as fllows - winners of match receive

Extra Preliminary Round winners £500

Preliminary Round winners £1,000

First Round Qualifying winners £7,500

Second Round Qualifying winners £7,500

Third Round Qualifying winners £10,000

Fourth Round Qualifying winners £20,000

First Round Proper winners £20,000

Second Round Proper winners £30,000

Third Round Proper winners £50,000

Fourth Round Proper winners £75,000

Fifth Round Proper winners £150,000

Sixth Round Proper winners £400,000

Runners-Up £1,000,000

Winners £2,000,000

Also if we make the first round proper ther is a pool shared by all clubs outside of the football league/Premier league. This is 5% of the net gate (after expenses) of all replays in the first to sixth round proper.

PS if you want a laugh the FA cup rules stat the ref must lead the teams onto the pitch five minutes before the kick off time - yet we kicked off late again!¬!!!

Just a little mystified as to why The Rebels played so well in the second half, did Browne get the dressing rooms mixed up and give his half time team talk to Hampton.
