yesterdays game upon reflection

not much different really except that I must exonerate 'elvis' (riverside lino) from the fiasco yesterday...he actually had a good game and even changed a couple of decisions that he got initially wrong...good sense of humour also so well done elvis...you can return safely <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />...as for the other two...

still think we were excellent yesterday and the tactical move of kingy supporting DC in midfield worked well....(poor kingy couldn't walk he was that tired which is a testimony to DC and the amount of work he gets thru) also credit must go to their defence and keeper who (with a bit of help from our strikers <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />) all had excellent games...I nearly gave their keeper MOM but the riverside threatened to throw me in the river so I quickly changed it.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

the young brentwood player is going to be fine and there is no serious damage although he will be out for a few weeks....these things happen and always will....takes two to tango and our captain will take his medicine and hopefully the brentwood youngster(s) will learn not to get to excited in future...there was a lot going on out there and the noise from the stands perhaps winds some of the younger players up..they'll learn..... same as we all did... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

 

in any event and more importantly...we wish him all the best and hope he's back quickly...

Charlie ball had a very good game when he came on, always looked lively and I'm suprised never scored. Billy Holland missed a few trying to go around the keeper and with others, it could have been double figures. Good game though and roll on next week.

Steve King was outstanding again, as was Danny Cowley who's fitness is excellent at this level, fully committed too.

 

Burbridge looks better everytime I see him and out front two with a bit of better luck would have bagged 6 between them.

 

But maximum credit to the back five (goalkeeper included), they look solid and assured and that's what will tell as the season progresses.

 

All in all a good performance, with loads of incident and the worst ref I've seen in yonks. All for a fiver! See you all at Hullbridge.
