I too have other things to do today so when you get in later please refer me to the specific rule that you talk of please.I would have thought that as you are referring to the rule book you would know instantly which rule/rules were applicable without the need to look them up.As you say there are many rules to look at but at any rate if the club are not/have not been adhering to the rules then thats for them to answer. No amount of rules however will display a common sense approach and that is what we are talking about in amongst this thread.

I think you have two seperate issues here. (1) Who has responsibility for these youngsters and should kids not only Under 11's but 10,9,8,7,ect be allowed by the club and more importantly parents to attend a football matches without any supervision. Here comes the what ifs. With dark evenings approaching and these younsters making their way to and from the game in what is in reality quiet a lonely site. What if One of these Unsupervised kids is snatched by one of our areas resident perverts,.What if, one of the younsters fall doing what younsters do,run around. What if there is ,God forbid trouble, and one of the younsters is hurt. Who is responsible. I think the club did all it realy could do on tuesday night. The stewards took the younster to the directors who decided that they could'nt at that time of night eject a youngster onto the street into the dark. From what i hear they will be held in a room until either parents can be contacted or allowed to go after the game with friends, unless of course they have not caused trouble or damage. (2) i believe the club had a meeting with the youth set up last thursday, hopefully things were said and things were sorted out. I hope certain parties know understand more fully what is expected of them when they pull on a GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAte shirt. LONG LIVE THE GAAAAAAAAATE. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.

I really feel that the club, and the stewards, were in a pretty uncomfortable position after the incident the other night. They could not stand by and do nothing, given the strength of feeling about the incidents.

Whatever the club did was not going to please everyone, and it must have seemed like a slap in the face, after they had reinstated the £1 admission, that their generous gesture was to a certain extent abused by a few irresponsible adolescents.

But I feel that they are right about the unaccompanied children, we must be aware of the safety of kids who think they are adult enough to cope with anything in this world, and who we know can be extremely vulnerable.

Plus I think that as far as the irresponsible adolescents are concerned, a clear message to them will have got through - that the club will not stand for their kind of behaviour.

Neither the club, the stewards, or even the kids are our enemies here, we are all feeling our way to a certain extent. And anyway, I have had some very good interactions with some lovely kids of all ages at the ground (very flattering that they want to talk to an old biddy like me) and I think the majority of them are absolutely lovely.

We can all do our part in creating the right kind of atmosphere, and, at the end of the day, most people, including kids, would rather belong to something good that hover on the edges being bad.

I have no problem with Parents accompanying the young kids. That is a good thing. The fact that this rule came about from an incident, not relating to them,is what I have a beef about. The implementation of escorts should have been in from the onset and not just because of an incident by a dozen or so 14/15 yr olds. Had there been no incident would this ruling have come about? Somehow I dont think so. As for evening matches it goes without saying that these kids should be accompanied but then again I doubt the parents would have them go out in any case.

Evening games are a different proposition to afternoon games anyway and should not be treated as being the same. There is room for a relaxation of rules during the daytime I feel.

For matches played at night the rule is a MUST. I have no quarrels about that being in force for these games.
