CHAV KIDS - MFC'S REACTION

Most definately a "NO". The wrong way to go entirely. Cannot see the logic in this.

Someone who deals with under 11 footballers I think has had a hand in this and its a move that will backfire on the club as much as the Turner Center is sure to back fire on the council.

This is a sure way of preventing kids coming along, well behaved kids that is! The under 11s havent caused any problems and I see from today the 14 & 15 yr olds wont be again either. So much for encouraging youth. A badly thought out move on the clubs part as they are focusing their actions on the wrong age group. Am bewildered to say the least.

in fact to my mind they should be giving free tickets to schools to give to the kids as rewards for good work or behaviour the more young fans we can get the better.

i said the same thing to vikky in the off season.

and its clearly the 14-16 year old chav gangster wannabees that cause all the trouble. not the 11 year olds, i dont see the logic in what they have done to address the issue.

Sorry to disagree with some, but I am with the club on this one. Letting in groups of unaccompanied youngsters is a recipe for trouble, as was seen on Tuesday evening.

Unruly behaviour by youngsters will spoil the enjoyment of many true fans, and therefore make them less likely to attend future matches. Also remember that one incident could have affected the result of the game, which might turn out to be important at the end of the season.

Requiring children to be accompanied by a responsible adult is not 'targeting' anybody. It is a sensible attempt by the club to prevent behaviour like Tuesday's happening again. Some fans on this forum were asking for action against the 'chavs' which was only just short of capital punishment. I think the club have acted in a mature and restrained way.

I'm just the messenger, but look at it as 2 probs. The ground is not some place for parents to send their kids when they'd rather be doing something else. Parents should take responsibility for their 11 year olds. I did.

Then there are the behaviour things that the club is trying to nip in the bud. "Oh bloody hell ref!" is not going to get anyone thrown out. But, it does give the club scope to remove people who are abusive and get carried away with very bad language. What on earth is wrong with that?

I'm with MFC on this by and large. Whether you see the ruling on 11 year olds needing to be accompanied as a reaction to Tuesday night or not - in my own humble opinion children under 11 should always be supervised by an adult. As a parent of 2 teenage sons I wouldn't have dreamed of letting them attend a football match unaccompanied at that age. Therefore this strikes me as good citizenship on MFC's part. You would like to think older kids could be trusted and therefore the same rule can't apply - unfortunately there are always some who take more time to grow up and therefore punitive action against those is appropriate and will not affect the majority of well behaved teenagers.

Hmmm i have to say i can be quite agressive at time's (verbaly) and i do say alot of F*** S***'s etc etc this is part of football for me and its always directed towards the ref and lineo's or more recently mutterd under my breath about standen.

I do try and curb my foul tounge when i see young children around but with out trying to sound selfish if u stand behind the goal expect to hear some abuseive words towards a bad call on the officals part.

Now the chav kids my main issuie with them was there spitting and genreal lack of regard for the ground, now how about the stewards sort this out instead of nitpicking with things such as the odd cus word shouted at an game offical.

In all the years I have been attending games I have never seen the need for this kind of ruling and in all those years there has never been any trouble. We had one night where about 15 kids kicked up and were unsavoury but the stewards and club now know of this and am sure eyes will be more alert to anything like this happening again. It wont happen again because of the fuss we kicked up about it. Nothing else is necessary unless those actual kids come back, because they havent been identified and spoken to yet,I'm sure.

They werent there yesterday and I doubt will be there again. It should all be done & dusted now and it must just be put down to experience and we should have learned something from it.No need for all these rule changes. Its ludicrous and wrong and more importantly its unfriendly.Thats not what this club aspires to be!!!

If a ref is blatantly ruining the game I can see myself saying a bit more than "bloody hell ref"!! (and I have done many times). If I got chucked out for it I would be gutted and it would also be a joke. Swearing happens and although it's worth making the effort the keep it in check due to having more youngsters about than in the past it is not always easy. I hope the club knows what they are looking for (14-16 year old chavs constantly swearing at the goalkeeper without even watching the game is what I'm getting at).

I can understand it if the club is chucking someone out who is off their face on alcohol and is ruining the day for other people around them, though. HOWEVER, with our stewards most of them are on a permanent power trip. No names mentioned RAMBO.
