I agree our management are so crap, in 4 years we have gone from nothing to the same league as PBT, and we are second in that league......

it has taken PBT 45 years to get where they are....

now go back and play with the other PBT supporter!

But, then again, PBT have worked their way up from the Barnet & District League via the Herts County League & Spartan South Midlands League and have been quite happy to find our feet in each League before preparing to make the next step up. Enfield Town, on the other hand, were given a free passport straight into the ESL with a ready-made support and ready-made finance - and still took four years to get promoted!

why are you trying too hard to get you number of posts up? is it because you are like your team, totally inadequate?? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bootyshake.gif" alt="" />

You have made a good start, but it will be more impressive if you are in a position to boast about it in April, rather than October. A lot of things can go wrong in six months.

The thing is,if they go wrong from 4th from bottom, then your in bigger trouble than if they go wrong from 2nd spot. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bisou.gif" alt="" />

Even though Howard could finish well enough from close range. I don't think he had the fitness or the speed ,to provide the all-round contribution that we were looking for up-front.Cooper is in a different league.

It's nice to have Committee members from two clubs engaged in such an intelligent conversation.......

Arky - there are three choices on this forum.

1) Don't participate (an option taken up by quite a few senior ETFC officials).

2) Give a reasoned argument to any point made, knowing full well that it will more or less kill off the debate in 98% of cases.

3) Drop to the other person's level and indulge in that favourite pastime on here - "banter".

Which choice I take depends on the topic and how the mood takes me at the time.

ST - in what way do you consider PBT inadequate? We have set our sights on staying in the division and consolidating, something the club has always done on our previous promotion occasions. If we achieve our goal and stay in the division, then we have performed adequately. If we pick up form and reach a play-off or promotion place, that is just a bonus. Nobody at PBT is worried about the targets ETFC or any other club have set themselves or whether they are performing adequately or inadequately against them, so there is no need for you to be worrying about us. We will just concentrate on getting the best possible result in our next match and see where that gets us by the end of the season.

LS - fair point, but six months is also a lot of time for teams at the bottom to put things right. A couple of wins at this stage of the season can make a huge amount of difference (our first win of the season saw us move up five places!). As for Richard Howard, he isn't the perfect footballer by any means but, then again, perfect footballers don't play at Southern League level. If he does a satisfactory job for us, that should be enough to meet our aims for the season and we'll be happy.

Indeed that is so, some Committee members would be much better off by not coming on here slagging off another team without explaining that it is their opinion & not that of the club they represent.
Isn't that fair?.

Couldn't agree more, mate. It's one thing to have a bit of fun with an individual, quite another to have a go at a whole club because you have taken offence to a particular comment. Most people have no good reason to have a pop at how other clubs are being run anyway, especially if it has no effect on their own club.
