Disgrace

Am I talking about the dire performance of Margate today.

Am I talking about the arms crossed attitude of CK

Am I talking about the referee's performance in not showing a red card for the punches and kicks today.

or am I talking about the verbal abuse which I witnessed to a Director from a well known so called Margate Fan who I shall not name.

Just a few thoughts for discussion

really??

i would be interested to know who and why although as i type this i think maybe i know who it could be!

But if it is who i think it is then this maybe because the said individual was given a 'final warning' for swearing!

Although if said abuse WAS aimed at a director then there is no excuse ,however, the stewards are now giving people warnings for swearing now and although SOME language is unacceptable you cannot and will not ban swearing from football grounds its impossible as if the fans are not dwindling already due to the performance on the pitch the stewards at MFC are getting above their stations with their demands to and for Margate fans!

Only a couple of the stewards have been involved in the gate for some time i believe that the Stewards are now creating a divide between us and them, in one post a couple of days ago a steward posted that 'They are with us and NOT against us, yeah right

totally agree with above.the stewards are causing more trouble than they are averting.their attitude is confrontational and arrogant.as for kids under 11 not being allowad in without an adult what a joke.its not them who are causing any trouble but the 14-16 y olds.if however this was dealt with properly by trained stewards and not untrained jobsworths im sure it would be sorted very quickly.i dont know what is going wrong with the club but they seem to forget they need us more than we need them.as for todays performance it was a bloody disgrage.

The players need more direction from the manager and the coaching staff. In the past the players themselves have taken more responsibility (as can be seen with Leon now giving a few a kick up the backside at half time) and we have had natural leaders like Jay, Graham etc. Now there doesnt seem to be such a strong influence on the pitch and I'm not sure if there is enough off the pitch either.

I too left early, for the first time.

They seemed to be wandering around aimlessly, with as has been said no leader.

I cannot understand why Chris continues to play the totally ineffectual Standen. There is no midfielder with any creativity. Our 2 strikers were arguing amongst themselves half the time too.

Perhaps with all the injuries they are finding it difficult to play as a unit.

A great improvement is certainly required.

Dave.

"What a blessing in disguise that I couldn't make the game today as it sounds like we were truly awful which is a bit puzzling for an FA cup match with £5,000 at stake and another potential money spinning tie in the next round. Can someone tell me what the team was today (apart from crap, that is!) Heard CK bemoaning the lack of 6 regulars missing through injury/work/etc but said those out there should have done better as they were playing for their places. Thought it would be a tough game today but never envisaged an embarassing walkover from a lower league team. Heard that many fans left well before the end - is this true?"

Total shambles !!!

This performance today was this seasons worst. Even the first half of last week was surpassed by todays joke performance.

Forget about the injury list, there were certain players out there today that would fail get into a sunday league side. One in particular, and why the Manager persists when other options are available I just dont understand. Today even Deen was awful. There was no man of the match but if I was to heap some praise out for someone then that goes to Burke again. On as sub yet did more than others did in the whole 90 minutes. Not much more but still more.

Why is is that some people can be picked DESPITE consistently bad performances. Surely those I hear agreeing with me are not all wrong. Do performances look different from the dug-out? I think not, so why?

So where does being positive on the forum make any difference to the teams performance or being negative make things worse. Its a forum for discussing things including inept performances.

We should be expressing ourselves according to the facts as they are.

Thats out of order I agree Butler. I cant believe it could have been JUST for using a swear word, else a lot more of us would have been given a final warning at some stage also. Thats ridiculous, and somewhere someone is going over the top.AS much as swearing is not encouraged it happens to an extent, especially with frustration and lets face it will had a lot of that today....frustration.

The manager at the football club can hide behind excuses till dawn, but ultimately he has had good people around him in the last 5 years that he has let go and have moved on to much better things.you must strive to keep good people or it will come back to haunt.

its one thing to swear out of frustration, but entirely another to swear at a steward or a director.

as it happened, i saw the incident. the person in question, and a group of, what could only be described as chavs had moved up the far end for the second half. there is a small area down the side of the pitch on the dugout side, which is concreted, and has a fence up, and looks to anyone looking to be an area you can stand and watch the game. a steward came along and told the group that its not possible to stand in that area, and was told in no uncertain terms to "go forth and multiply", or words to that effect!!! he then called in another steward, but the individual carried on swearing and refused to move. 'Rambo' then came in and read the riot act, which if nothing else moved the group out of the way. the directors then came round to see what was going on, and they too were given a mouthfull! i know the club have had problems with this individual in the past, and quite honestly, a final warning is somewhat leniant!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" />
