JC, the chances you mentioned where all in the first half I think gnfcsuperb was talking about the second half.

Other than the goal they had a volley from a well worked corner which was well wide but shouldn've been.

I thought a draw was about right but the last two matches have shown that we can compete with the best sides in this league.

Harry, you seem to have a soft spot for Grays....is it between your ears?

Correct. The point remains that, on balance of chances throughout the game, a draw was fair.

Great result today when we thought York had performed daylight robbery at the end!

Importnantly the Crowd have woken up and i hope we can continue home games in such good voice.

Any neutrals or newbies in the crowd must surely come back after that!! Cracking entertainment and whicever way you look at it a fair point.

I pitty the fools, who left after York scored their second goal. They missed a beautiful goal from sodje. Maybe next time they will be "fleet fans until they die" and stay to the end, and applaude our lads for their hard work. Nice to see the attendance was up.

Great performance against a York team who were lightning when they broke away.

However, got to go with Harry on the Bowry comment. When he went off the midfield became more workman like. I'm not knocking the other players who competed 100% but he is the icing on the cake in the middle that helps us keep the ball and open up the opposition.

Sodje looks a real gem and definately a crowd puller, although he is very one footed.

Can't wait for the next game!!

'kin hell ! Are you never satisfied ( perhaps you will only be when Gravesend win the European Cup ??)......

"Sodje looks a real gem and definately a crowd puller, although he is very one footed"......very one footed ?? I'll settle for that on yesterday's showing !!

I predict a riot !!

In my opinion, tackle of the match was prov;s in the first half when he hooked the ball away from donaldson(9) when clean through, brilliant tackle.

Today was a very good hard won point and totally deservered i thought in the first 20 minutes they were going to murder us but then thats football, best game i,ve seen this season, and worth every penny of the 12 quid entrance fee.

Twas a good and fair result .

But Always thought that if you stopped Donaldson you stopped York. And I think we did to a degree. He looked a class act but other than that they were fairly average, but much better organised than last season at our place.

Lets hope we continue to get as exciting games, but in future 3 points.

Well said UP FLEET, anyone who doesn't think that was worth £12:00 can f*** right off because they are never going to be satisfied anyway, those of us who think that entertainment like that is a bargain at £12:00 should be telling everyone we meet what a great afternoon we had on Saturday.
My brother saw his first match of the season on Saturday he will definately be at the next home match.

Best game of football I've seen at stonebridge road for ages. We were owning them in the 1st half and I'd bet that if Charlie Macs was playing our possesion might have turned into another goal. 2nd half was more even but we could of got all three points if it weren't for that lapse near the end. But still, great way to get that equaliser. The city fans must of felt like s***.

I noticed that the atmosphere got progressively better throughout the game too as more people, probably plough end exiles, joined in with the vocal support. Hope the end gets opened again soon, wanna get that atmosphere back.

As is usual against us, though, the York fans are saying it was the worst they've played all season, and it was a poor game! They are also mocking us for celebrating getting a point - I bet that if they had gone 2-1 behind 5 mins from the end and then grabbed an equaliser themselves, they would have reacted in exactly the same way!

They really do have an attitude problem amongst their fans though :-

You are dead right.

However, not in the way you mean - it was a shining example of why it would be nice to get out of this league as soon as possible.

A dreadful game at a dreadful ground in front of a dreadful crowd.

That, I am afraid, is how I will remember most of the Conference when we finally do get out of here.

Yes. I feel sorry for all the league clubs who end up in the Conference and who have to stand in that dump, with s***e home support.

You do have, along with Aldershot, the worst ground in the Conference.

And, when your chairman comes down off of Cloud Cuckoo Land(see yesterdays program notes by him), he will know that your club will NEVER be football league.

To be fair to Gravesend, I don't think they seriously believe they will ever be a League club.

However, whether they do or they don't isn't the point - the point is we still have to play them, which is depressing enough.

Everybody but the chairman probably thinks that. It's not as if he has to talk himself up or anything. They're a small club with a small ground in a run down town in the middle of Kent.

His programme notes suggest to me that he really is living life on another planet.

And, £20 for Third Division football? No one would pay that. Except possibly the Hull fans.

York City deserve better fans than that, From phoyts, Kit Kat Crescent is hardly the San Siro !! Still, Alan let them wallow in their delusions of grandeur, they will probably still be in the Conference in 4 years time when we are at our shiny new Riverside Stadium.

The whole thread on their forum reiterates by belief that most of the York supporters, are thick northern bas*ards.

The York fan I spoke to at the end of the game agreed with me that a draw was a fair result after an entertaining game. So I don't think the above comments were typical of their real fans.

In the last 2 weeks we've matched 2 of the better sides in this division & could have won (or lost to be fair) either game. So that shows real improvement for the Fleet & being that we had plenty of injuries, a performance like that is a real plus.

Even so there's not much between bottom & top & we will have to be at our best to win at Tamworth next week.

Was anybody else slightly mystified by Liam's late substitution of Gooding for Proths, we conceeded shortly after & Proths was having a good game.

Is Roly Edwards the new Chairman of GNFC? BK made no programme notes for saturdays programme.
