To be fair I think that we could have taken all 3 points. More chances and I thought we were the better team. But of course York had a bad day against a big, physical long ball team with a tin pot ground. Did anyone see their second? looked off from where I was but I wasn't inline so could not tell. Oh, and HAHA to the ones that started walking out when we went 2-1 down, really do hate that!! Cracking atmosphere 2nd half! Guy looked useful when he came on, but couldn't do much, everytime he got the ball he was surrounded. Cannot wait to see a Sodje/macdonald partnership. Two good players who can both finish. Cool finish from SOdje at the end.

Absoltely done 'em first half. We played proper footie and their goal was against the run of play, and more or less the only proper chance in the half.

Shame we reverted to long ball more in the second half, but I think overall we matched if not outclassed/played a side which are one of the favourites to go up.

What a great game, their number 9 looked a top quality player. don't know how the ref gave a yellow to their bloke who pulled Sodje back when clear through in the first half ...if it was a a foul it had to be a red.

Still a good afternoons entertainment and if anyone deserved a goal it was Sodge. Jamie Guy looked big and quick when he came on although if he only joined the team yesterday it will obviously take a while before we see the best of him.

It looks like Liam is putting a bit of a squad together, 'down by christmas'? don't think so. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

It was good though letting them sing we are top of the league only to snatch it from under their nose.

If that was the winner, though, we would no be sitting happily in 6th.

Ah well, great draw none the less.

If that doesn't gain 5 star entertainment in the NLP I don't know what will!

Thought todays game was brilliant. We played well throughout and had a number of great chances where we could of taken all 3 points. Thought the atmosphere today was much better compared to recent weeks and we certainly made enough noise for the boys to get a late goal.

Once again well done to Sodje who showed his pace and skill to grab the late equaliser.

Definatly up there with one of best games of the season so far and hopefully many more to come!

Up here in L**ds I listened to a very biased BBC Radio York commentary of the game but it still sounded as though 'The Fleet' easily deserved 3pts today. After what appeared to be a bright start by York City, where they took the lead, Fleet gradually came into things and ended up dominating play for long spells - or so it seemed?

I had the impression that York were relying on quick breaks in the second half and with the shock of a 85minute (ish) goal for them, Fleet pulling it back to 2-2, sounded like poetic justice!

After an exciting and enjoyable afternoon of Fleet action it swifty turned into a predictably frustrating early evening with Mr Erickson's crew!

Such is life!

Don't know where you lot got the rose tinted glass' view that we controlled the game and deserved the win today but I don't agree.

When Bowry went off it affected us badly as we lost the midfield. York controlled and ran things and yeah we could have won but should of....?

I'm more than delighted with a point, York are the best team I've seen in my thirteen games this season and will win this league. Grays were nothing special just focused on a very poor defensive display and hit us hard.

Make no mistake about it though we matched that lot today, we didn't play better than them or deserved to beat them they controlled most of the game but we stood up to the task and answered the questions they asked of us.

A well-reasoned response - congratulations.

Although Harry saying York 'will win this league' and saying Grays were 'nothing special' (you've really got it in for them, haven't you, Harry?) is perhaps a bit presumptuous, he's right to imply that a draw was about right today. Based on chances, the game was pretty even - ok, so Sodje flashed a shot wide when well-placed in the second half, and Jacko hit the bar from long-range and Jay had a shot just wide after good build-up in the first, but York had the chances I mention below in the first half, as well as a header wide from Bishop in a great position and a scuffed shot from Donaldson in a similar position to his goal in the second.

Overall, if you'd offered me two points before the last two games, I'd have taken them. Great displays from Skins and Sodje in particular today, but it was again great to see a team performance with no hugely weak links. Also, surprised but pleased to see Jacko back so soon from his injury last week.

To be fair, there were other defenders running back. Dudgeon may have been the last man, but it wasn't 100% clear-cut.

No - Holloway had a full-stretch save to make towards the end of the half. Also, although not legitimate shots on target, there was the 'goal' that was rightly ruled out for offside, and the scramble in the box that ended up with the ball deflecting onto the bar.

The original foul from their defender was the last man, that is what the lino flagged for. After the foul was when another defender got back. This is judging by the position of the free kick. To be fair though I would have felt slightly agrieved had the situation been reversed and our player had walked! Harry? York will win this league? but Grays werent special? Grays and YOrk, I thought, had very similar styles of play, and the ways Grays played looked far superior to the way York played. Personally I think the league is going to be a very close cut affair this season, no team so far has REALLY impressed me like the Yeovils, Chesters and Barnets who ran away with the title.
